The majority of all immigrants vote democrat and the Republicans think they can pander to these folks.

I am sorry to weigh in with you so late Joe. I have been extremely busy with Rep. Pete Sessions office today.

I have not had time to read all of the thread but I solidly support you.

I have noticed several post (one I believe from JR) that states that we need to get the Democrats out and get more Republicans in. For the most part I agree, but Republicans are not without fault.

If you remember when 245(i) was in the House, we lost by 1 vote. There were several Republicans that did not vote. I don't have the data in front of me but I believe Dick Armey was one that didn't vote. Dennis Hastert stayed silent on the subject. Ron Paul voted "Aye". (Libertarian?)

The point that I want to make now is that we are a nation of laws. Every elected official is sworn to uphold the laws and the Constitution of the United States. It doesn't matter what party they are affiliated with.

The immigration laws and quotas are already on the books. This administration is doing no better than the past administration when it comes to enforcing them.

What I am saying here is nothing different from what I have said on a thousand other post.

Never, ever will you find me putting a "party" ahead of America. Instead I will hold whoever is in office responsible to do their job. I don't care if they have an "R", a "D", an "I" or an "L" behind their name.

Is Ziglar doing his job? The answer is no. If you recall his comments of about a month ago, he said something to the affect that immigration was so out of control that it was impractical to try to control it. Gosh - I thought that was his job. He is also the same person that is against placing troops on the border for fear of offending someone. Why hasn't Bush fired this idiot? I ask for leadership. I ask that our existing laws be enforced. This political pandering makes me sick!!

If Tom Tancredo doesn't run for president in 2004, I think I will just write Barbra Streisand on my ballot and let the chips fall where they may. [/rant]

This unfortunately seems to be the case.
