My primary concern is the liberals/socialists taking complete control of the country. The founders never intended for the feds to have so much power. If you want to have a right to control or block immigration, abortion, gun grabbing, land grabbing, or whatever issue is important to you in your own state, then I think you should start by doing something about replacing the liberal activist judges that make all this balony possible. How do you do that? Deny the liberals a majority in the Senate. Deny them control of the Congress. Keep them out of the Whitehouse. Deny them control of your local governments.

I'M TRYING, I'M TRYING, EVERY CHANCE THAT I GET!

They are even in NH and gaining ground! It's killing me! I just believe that if a person is illegally in this country, every State, County, and Town should work to report them and get them sent out of our country.

Illegal is illegal period.

Since I have never had your ear before, may I just say thank you and all those who worked with you did get this site going!

Jim, the problem is that most of the immigrants vote for liberals/socialists. Just look at the big immigrant states like NY, IL and CA

Let's not even ask why the government allows illegals to overrun some parts of the country

I agree wholeheartedly with your post 25. However, without meaning to sound like a doomsayer, it's too late IMHO. I used to think we had a chance, that we could just inform the public of this threat in our midst (in a more organized and rational manner than, say, McCarthy) and we'd turn things around...until I realized how pervasive and long-standing the infiltration of communistic/socialistic ideology is in our country--the judicial system being one of the most infiltrated. On the other hand, if I had to name my second biggest concern, it would be immigration (both legal and illegal). I think they tie in (altho I also have major concerns about language, culture, etc.)--many of the current (past 30-40 years) immigrants were already communistic/socialistic when they entered the country or they leaned that way or they quickly became adherents because of what they're "entitled" to in our country under this ideology. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I realized there were commie/socialists in our White House! To say I was stunned is an understatement of biblical proportions. The obstruction of Bush judicial nominees is an indication of how important the commies in this country view the judiciary. But, again, I really think it's too late, altho we may be able to hold it at bay for a while. The horse is out of the barn, kiddo.

It's my understanding that when the states along the southern border have attempted to take control of the immigration problem that they are repeatedly hobbled in one way or another by the feds and even the ongoing violation of individual property rights against landowners on the border are being tolerated by the feds. So it doesn't seem to me that the federal government is in any way giving deference to states' sovreignity here.

The founders never intended for the feds to have so much power.

Our federal government usurping the powers given to the states, and to the people, is the greatest danger faced by our republic, and it's people. Everything else is secondary. I agree with you wholeheartedly on this.

#25: "My primary concern is the liberals/socialists taking complete control of the country."

And who do you think these illegals will vote for Jim?

You might want to consider that immigration today is attracting a less educated and poorer class of people that days gone by. That being said, how does the party of less taxes (the R's) expect to attract the newly immigrated when they pay little or no taxes? Were any immigrant voices raised in the battle to stop Campaign Finance Reform? Does anyone really think that Jose the gardner gives a tiny rats arse about rolling back the estate tax?

It a given that Jose, et al, will vote for the very liberals/socialists you want to see go away because with them they get all the social programs you're trying to roll back...

Many immigrants want the socialist nanny-state to take care of all of their needs. They then reward the socialist nanny-state by voting overwhelminly for Democrats so that Gray Davis, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer and Hillary Clinton can forever expand the scope, activity and powere of US socialism.

Jim, I would think this was a direct corollary of your primary concern, and as such, I thought the immigration/socialism cycle would be a major hot-button issue for you. I guess I am surprised as well.

Repeal the 17th! Much of this liberal/socialist control goes away......

Repeal the 16th and the socialist tree dies.
