I still don't understand why some conservatives choose to be loopy idealists like those peacenik fruitcakes during the 60s. I have always thought of conservatives as being the grown-up party-- with the pragmatism and wisdom that comes with being grown-up. The thought that some would throw temper tantrums like toddlers do is really beyond my comprehension, and defies all logic. Politicians are vote whores. Holding your vote hostage against them will just make them go to someone who will give them his or her vote.

Well, temper tantrums - really? I suppose the Boston Tea Party, The Reveolution WAr, The War of 1812, WWII, etc., etc., were just temper tantrums?

Compromise is give and take on both sides. Do we see any give on the other side except on the tax cut.

Either you have a philosophy or you don't. If you do, you stand up for it. That is my philosophy.I believe there are some things you cannot compromise on and if you do, you are lost.

If the idea is to keep a political party in the WH just so they can say they won and their man is in the WH - then that is their philosphy. This is a free (relatively speaking), country and I will not call anyone names for it. I just don't understand namecalling.

Bush is caving into the left none of you Bushbots has given me a sufficient reason WHY he doesn't need to this to get reelected his leftist cave ins will not help Republicans in the Senate. Understanding seduction is still a part of renting a whore. Republicans can be rented. But victory is in haggling for price. The problem is some conservatives just can't wait to give their votes away, and are easily taken for granted.
