I bought it in 2000. but I know it's older then that because of it being reconfigured. I'm not sure how old exactly. My guess would be over two years old.

it would probably be very simple to put a sound card in it. The problem with the one I have is that it is one I got specifically for hooking the computer up to my piano. It is probably more complex then you would want.
