There is a law that says, 'never admit to error when jingoism will do.' Unfortunately, that law is not confined to government.

Thanks for the posting John.

Members of my family have been firefighters and worked with the crew that dies and was injured.

They were all from Yakima, Washington.

There is blame to spread around in this situation, namely the Forest Service, and, the envioromentalists that refused the plane.

Still angers me!

I just finished reading another article about logistics problems here in Colorado with the forest service. It seems that for the right hand to help the left- it has to first pass through the @ss.

The forest service fighting the Hayman fire is in dire need of additional "hot-shots" [those specialists trained to fight monster fires]. So, they go through the beauracracy and place their request in Boise. Okay, so they receive more firefighters delivered but no hot-shots. Now, they have too many firefighters but not enough hot-shots.

Meanwhile, within 15 miles of this fire, sits the largest team of hot-shots in the west- at Ft. Carson, Colorado.

Why didn't they call them? Hell, they don't even know they're there- even though the Ft. Carson has already volunteered to help in any way possible. It's not because they're military, because this team is civilian.

They know it now- it's splashed all over the front page. Your Federal Government hard at work.

Wasn't this the incident where the firefighters died because the bureau-weenies were afraid to scoop water out of the lake for fear of scooping some stupid fish??? Just shows that the greenies value wildlife over human life (unless it is their own).
