underestimating ones enemy is a good way to die.

In the reports/interviews I've heard, and I can't remember the exact wording, the terrorists are told to learn the American culture and use it against them.

They tried to buy a replica of an ambulance. These are made for the movie industry to use in films. Quick thinking employees got their license number AND notified the authorities. Thus, the warning!

The best and brightest rarely volunteer for suicide bomber duty.

Here's another thread on the subject:
Attempt To Buy Ambulance Spurs FearApparently, the company named Movie Time Cars, Inc.,
only rents vehicles. So the attempt to purchase an ambulance stood out to them.

FYI - I know of folks who have seen people of middle-eastern persuasion video-taping the area around and about the courthouse in alexandria, Virginia (i.e., where walker and moussaui (sp?) are being tried). I find it defies logic to think that there is any non-nefarious reason these folks are doing this.
I recommend at the very least carrying a disposable camera, or pen and paper to record license plates. If they can abuse our freedoms, I can certainly utilize mine.
Unfortunately, I cannot yet afford to move away from this area. For the time being, I am stuck close enough that an explosion there may shatter my windows...Unfortunately, again, I just can't think of any sane reason these folks are video-taping and taking still shots of non-scenic views, which happen to include a federal courthouse....and, the men bring their families (women and children) with them in this task.
For what it's worth, FYI.

The owner of the shop became suspicious when the men tried to pay cash, and the pair fled without leaving any identification, the source told the News. Sheesh, are people really that dumb?? If he was suspicious if they wanted to pay cash, he should have said FINE, but I need to prep the car and you can pick it up in the morning. In the meantime, contact the FBI and have them there to greet the new car buyers.

Yes... When in doubt, dial 911 and stall.

Good for him!! Well, kinda. He should have said he'd gladly accept cash but that he needed to prep the vehicle (or some believable stalling excuse), then contact the FBI and tell them to be there to greet the potential terrorists. It would have been nice to interrogate them.

Where is the Whore of Babble-On in all of this? She said she was going to make national security her top priority (after her own self-interest, of course). What did she know and when did she know it?

So a few days, week(s), ago an Al Queda leader says, "god willing, the next attack will come from a place least expected."....
Who would think to challenge an emergency vehicle - on the fourth of July?
I think I hear some mind juices flowing, and some lobes blinking...

"It would have been nice to interrogate them." True...perhaps he got a license plate number and the cops just didn't want to give that info out to the press out of concern for the safety of this good samaritan.

"The owner of the shop became suspicious when the men tried to pay cash, and the pair fled without leaving any identification..."Good for the shop owner, for being on the ball like that. Shame he didn't have a gun, or a tazer, or a can of Mace...such is life in Leftopia.

The solution then is old-west style wanted posters, complete with rewards. Those gang-bangers might just find a more rewarding business model. Print a full sheet in the Daily News... Good idea. Please send it to Bush/Ridge/Ashcroft.
