I remember hot and humid, growing up in Baltimore and Philadelphia BAC. Later my trips to Cape Canaveral made me love it as long as there is a sea breeze. Now Maine today started out at 40 and got up to 70 on the coast. Humid? not so's you'd notice but there's been a fog bank on the islands 3 mile out. Last nite I did a search for Baltimore WWII. Got a Maryland picture site which included USO pics that were cute. Try the same search for a lot of old Baltimore pics.

You got it, kiddo! We need to call Ducky and Rod soon anyway, since we're about to head that way to get my head examined! LOL!! ;-}

Are you from Maryland or Pennsylvania? I love history. Where is that site for Baltimore WWII? Do I just type Baltimore WWII in the address box on my screen?

Hey ClaraSuze! I've
met tons of country singers, I know many, I like some, and I consider a handful to be true friends. I don't know Charlie all that well, but we've exchanged Christmas cards through the years. My father was Charlie, Jr's high school teacher, and Junior had a crush on me when I was 20, and he was seventeen! It was cute, but I don't think so! *G*
My first husband played drums for Jimmy C Newman (he is with Merle Haggard now), and they played Charlie's jams, so I know Charlie from music life and real life. He's a genuine dude -- the real deal! We don't have dinner together every month or anything, though! *VBG*

Hey Sassy! Thanks! I'm probably going to send him a note and invite him to join us, and see what happens! Thanks for the good wishes; I hope I feel better too! *G* When the sun goes down (7:30pm!), it starts easing up! (Long wait!!)
Hope to talk to you later on!! (Gosh darn, it's hot and uncomfortable! Oh well! It'll get better!)
Love ya!!

Do you know Alan Jackson or Toby Keith? I think it's a darn shame what Peter Jennings and ABC did to Toby because they thought "Curtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" was too much!
IMO, the after thought about Toby not being scheduled is a lot of BULL!
They just don't like anyone who speaks the truth.

I've bumped into Alan Jackson, but I don't know him. I've never met Toby Keith, though. (Sorry!!) (I feel like I let you down.)
I do know Sharon White-Skaggs, and her mother just died, so if you could keep their whole family in your prayers, I would really appreciate it!
God bless you all! (Now I must get a popsicle and droop for a while!) (*G?*)

Thank you for letting us know about the George Washington. I'll be happy to add them to my prayer list.
To: ladtx
Hi ladtx. Nice to see you here! I need your TX flag. Where did you get that? :)
To: mountaineer
For the two West Virginian heroes. I thank them. God bless their surviving families.

I finally checked out The Greatest Generation today from the library. I'm ashamed to say I haven't read it yet. I'm excited about it.
To: Beep
You let no one down. :0)
My prayer go out for Sharon and her family.
Enjoy your popsycle!

Thanks for your post SAM. I worry about our troops in the Philippines. I'm always thinking about them. God protect them please. Keep them safe from "the animals" and bring them home soon.

Farmersville wasn't too far from us. We drove through there all the time. Do you know any Dallasites to ping for this thread?
To: tgslTakoma
Thanks for your post and those pictures. I tried to find To Hell and Back at the library today and it's on order. I put my name on the list to be the first one to read it when it gets in.
To: ClaraSuzanne
Howdy Clara. How are you doing? I just burned my foot. LOL I was stirring our soup for dinner and spilled a bunch on my foot and leg. Lovely. LOL
To: ClaraSuzanne
www.mdhs.org/library is what came up when I searched for Baltimore world war II. This is the MD historical society. I spent WWII in Baltimore and then moved to Philly. I hope you find it. If you want to FReepmail your email I can try to send you a link. Other than the USO pics,If you didn't live there, they are just ugly city pics.
To: SpookBrat
Hi Spook! I don't know where you find the time to do all this book reading!!!
To: SpookBrat
Ouch! That must've hurt! Are you all right now?
I'm feeling a little better than I did last night. I stayed home and slept! I still feel like I have a slight fever.
