The Satan model. Project a God-like image, and a lot of people (including many in our State Department) will treat you like a God, no matter how evil and corrupt you actually are. Instead of a trial and execution of this murderous barbarian, we treat him like a legitimate leader. Now I understand fully how Hilter was able to get away with so much, because he crafted such a great image of being a God-like leader.

It reminds me of a lot of government and corporate environments, where its not the person who actually does the best work that gets promoted, but the person who is best at projecting a good image to the boss (AKA kissing the boss's kister).
