Somewhere, I heard someone bring up the idea, that the unidentified print on the bannister,was in such a position and angle that it looked as if someone were leaning over the railing to see if the coast was clearIt was described as sort of upside-down. It was exactly opposite of what it should be if heading that direction on the stairs.

Stairs in houses most always only have one banister so when coming down stairs you walk next to the banister and the same when going up. It would not be odd then to find hand prints going both ways.
