My wife got a Brand New Ford Exployer while her Toyota Avalon was in the shop.

Seriously, in spite of Toyota's caving in to ShakeDown Jesse (anyone got the update on that news item?) I wouldn't give the money to the Ford 'The Muslims are our Friends' Foundation!

I drove one prior to BMW and didn't like it either. Almost got another Jeep but then drove the BMW........miles apart. I was gonna try a Lexus and Acura but impulse buying sucked me up.

That matches with our experience, my wife wanted a pickup we were very good consumers and test drove everything in the market (except the Dodge, they show too damn many commercials during sporting events, we both agreed their vehicles must suck). After 5 minutes in the Ford Ranger we were both suffering from major back pain, couldn't wait to get out of that thing. We got the Tacoma, which is what our mechanic said we should get. I was partial to the Nissan Frontier because it handled just like my Sentra, but it was going to be her truck not mine so we went with quality over my comfort (the Tacoma is clearly better but not by a lot).
