Clancy had no part in the production of the movie. All I can tell you is, when the credits roll at the beginning of the movie, Clancy is credited as the Executive Producer. That means he bankrolled the production. I think the statements he made in the past are now in the past in more ways than one.
(Being an "Executive Producer" doesn't mean you're involved in the making of the movie. It's nothing more than a title - Making the movie is up to the screenwriters and directors. This is what I've gathered from reading, anyway...)
