So like the 'rats. Pull out a last minute smear about a long-ago incident, and rely on the media wing of the party to blow it up. Count on the public (dumbed - down courtesy of the "education" wing of the party) to lack perspective, thus overlooking that only shortly before they were looking at something really worrisome, namely Al Gore in live debate confabulating a wholly false story (about his personal involvement in some Texas weather emergency). Ahhh, democracy!

FYI.

This fits with the theory I have. The DWI story probably was as big a factor as the number of evangelical Christians who may have sat 2000 out.

"It was a very close election. All of our internal polls show that it was literally a dead heat,"

Let's see, this is coming from that faggy little twerp Lehane, so we'll turn the de-spin-erator loose on it:

"It was not a very close election until we rigged the polling stations. All of our internal polls show that it was literally a dead heat, and then some senile senior spiked the Buchanan chad!"

Uh, Chris. Voter fraud gave Algore a good many of the popular votes he supposedly got. While Algore, Joe, and the DNC denied many in the military their right to vote.

Word to the wise, Chrissy: You really don't want to go there...

Chris, how about a beer just to show there's no hard feelings? Have an ice cold glass of Butt Head Doppelbock (Tommyknocker Brewery, Red Zone).

As discussed at the time, it and the network's early calls. The vote fraud by the Rats also padded some numbers as well. As to the DWI, it was the presshole's "why didn't W tell us, can he be trusted?" mantra for 4 days. In short, they raised a Clinton question as to W's honesty and it almost worked. Zogby picked the 2-1 break for Gore by undecideds, hence his accuracy. Too dang close for comfort, IMHO....

Although almost two years have passed since this DWI story broke, I seem to remember that Lehane's sister had a hand in this last ditch democratic leak to sway votes.

My finest moment on FR was when we Chris Lehane publicly announced the number to call in for a Gore Campaign conference call. Who here remembers that? It was great. Of course some of the people who missed the fun were mad at us for the level of disruption that we caused.

billclinton did massive organized election fraud
by a miracle of God a tsunami of votes for Bush overwhelmed the fraud

I figure one/third of Gore's votes were from non existent voters
(he never got his own base on board)
and a million votes for Bush were ''lost''

I walked on broken glass to vote for Bush cause I knew billclinton would be our dictator (behind puppet al gore) if we didn't get Bush in
plus Bush is kind good person

my father-in-law, a union man and lifelong Dem voter voted for Bush
cause he said ''we have to get the crooks out of office''
I don't know how many liberals and Dem voters crossed Party lines because of this
I was still an ultra liberal when I realized billclinton would get rid of our Constitution, which is why I fought so hard for his Impeachment
I vowed never to vote Dem again when I watched the Dems collapse into corruption and keep him in power

the Dems made mistake on the gun issue
they thought it would get soccer moms to vote for them
it is the independents now who decide the elections
but soccer moms didn't care, and voted for Bush
and every gun owner in USA from left wing to right wing voted for Bush too
the Dems won't make that mistake again
but Dem Party has been taken over by gangsters, as soon as their voters realize it, they will be finished
Love, Palo

the GOP remains wholesome Party
however I plan to vote Libertarian from now on
cause I want to stop the war on drugs

win the popular vote in the 2000 presidential election

All Gore won was an exercise in mathematics, Christine. There is no national popular vote for president. It's meaningless, pinhead.

I have always thought this. Here in California, up until about 10 days before the election, Bush was riding high in my district, everyone was excited, we had tons of volunteers, and then suddenly ... nothing. Silence. Dead.

What a bunch of crock!!! Good grief! Will these people never get over the last election?? The only reason Gore managed to get the popular vote was because THE DEMS CHEATED!!!

How can a rational thinking person be so unsure of which party they will support in the last 2 days of a huge national campaign, that they will switch their vote over something this small ??????
