or am I the only one who thinks this lady deserves mercy? You may want to ask the 25 people who lost their homes first. Their opinion should matter.
In the meantime, how much common sense should it take to realize that letters can be burned outside of fire zones too?
To: B.R. Burton
Hope she has insurance
To: dennisw
So you think she actually intended to burn down the state of colorado, out of pure mischief/malice?
To: Colonel_Flagg
You are correct. The families take precedence. They did NOTHING wrong.
To: B.R. Burton
Ok. I guess I have gone off on a liberal tangent.Maybe yes, maybe no. No harm in asking the questions, but when you do, you will get answers. I just have more sympathy for all the people who lost everything. I have not heard if anyone has been killed yet, but if that happens, then I really don't have the slightest bit of sympathy for her

I FEEL for all the loggers who lost their jobs and homes due to the USFS, I FEEL for all the Western property ownwers that are losing their property rights to the Salmon while the USFS club returning fish to "correct" the numbers game, I FEEL for the farmers in Klamath Falls who had their water turned off by the USFS to save a sucker fish, I FEEL the USFS scientists that planted Lynx hair in the National Forests of the Pacific Northwest should have been JAILED, and let us not forget to FEEL for the Forest firefighters that were killed last year while the USFS debated the merits of pulling water from a stream that was home part of the season to a so called "endangered" fish species! This agency is OUT OF CONTROL and needs corraled.

Normally, the press finds quick ways to get photos of those arrested for major crimes. Oddly, none seem yet available in this case. Why?

She might be a real nut and started the fire on purpose for some perverse reason. This is a real possibility. Plenty of people are firebugs who get their rocks off seeing the results of their handiwork.

Why?I suspect if she is not now in custody or is in custody with plans to release her, they may not want her picture floating around for fear someone will do her some harm.

How're you doing, Mark?

You are resorting to hyperbole but yes..... I say she wanted to see stuff burn. Forests burn. This just might be the reason and it's as good as any and better than most.

She may have wanted to see that letter burn, but the whole forest?
To: B.R. Burton
Right now, in that pert of Colorado, you don't even think fire. You shouldn't even light a cigarette outdoors. I don't feel sorry, I feel pissed.
Besides which, the Bucksnort is just to the north of Pine, and that's a national historical landmark.
To: Huck
She had to go out into fire hazard forest to burn a letter? She should have done the responsible thing and used the letter for toilet paper. ;o)

Feel sorry for her all you want... she should still get the firing, fines, and jail time she earned through her love-lorn incompetence.
(Would it have been so bad to just toss the letter in the wastebasket?!?)

How're you doing, Mark?Doing well, hoping to make a trip to the Philippines soon. Still working grave shift.

Good point, perhaps because I live in Midland, Texas, and don't have the same fire cautions those in Co. have, I've failed to see a factor in the process of this tragedy. Hmmm.
To: Teacher317
It would have been GREAT to just throw it away.
