I'm sure she feels guilty, and rightly so - it was her actions - actions for which she was prepared to nail others for, that caused all this sorrow. No. The more I think of it, the less sorry I feel for her. I'm sure that some of those homes that were lost also belonged to cute females too. if you're gonna feel sorry for anyone, try those. This idiot chose her actions knowing full the risk involved.

I feel for the ladyI think I'll wait to feel sorry for her until I hear how she comes out in the "air-headed-female-government employee" of the month contest with that babe that interviewed Atta for for his loan.
To: B.R. Burton
I wonder if she was ever in the military?
To: B.R. Burton
She was so distraught that she set fire to it in an incendiary wilderness. Lets hope she doesn't have a bad day with the kids. Is her husband named Rusty Yates??
To: B.R. Burton
No, she meant to burn the letter, not the state of colorado. Oh, ok, then. Forest Ranger, burning letter in fire hazard area, "accident" causes millions in damage and renders families homeless. Yeah, let's all feel sorry for HER! Feel her pain, so-to-speak.

The air-headed female gov't employee has been won 12 months in a row by Mary Francis Berry, so perhaps she will win this month. But the smart-thinking female gov't employee award should go to that FBI lady who wanted to investigate Moussaoui.

Man or woman, if it's an accident, it's an accident.I learned, from 20 years in the Air Force, that they do not consider aircraft mishaps as accidents. It is alwasys caused by something or someone, such as materiel failure, bad maint, pilot/controller error. In this case, it appears as though it was utter stupidity that caused it. That is not justification. Let the justice system run it's course, same as the 60 year old grandfather in San Francisco, who "forgot" about his very young grand daughter in his car, and she died in there.

Yes, the families/victims take precedence.

Ok. I guess I have gone off on a liberal tangent.

love, or love gone bad has made many people do some dumb things. it has been known to cloud the logical thought process. it is very unfortunate.

yes, wise words.
To: B.R. Burton
Yes, I feel bad for her. But my problem here is she lied to the investigators.
Should she be held criminally responsible for the fire if her [second] story is true? No. Should she be held criminally liable for lying to the investigators? Yes.
To: B.R. Burton
Normally, the press finds quick ways to get photos of those arrested for major crimes. Oddly, none seem yet available in this case. Why?

It's called personal responsibility. This woman showed none.
You want to show her mercy - would you want to show the same mercy if the fire had been caused by an improperly extinguished cigarette?????

..... imagine how guilty this person must feel ..... Some people do not experience guilt...as we witnessed with the Clintons and their administration...
Why would a person take a letter to a FOREST and start a fire to burn it???? Did her Ex live nearby??

pro-government, pro-feminist bias?

I feel for her a lot, now send her to prison for 20 years. There has to be a penalty for being so stupid and causing others harm. She of all people should have known not to start a fire and I don't believe her about the "get lost" letter she says she burned.
Give this idiot the max!!!

An accident is an accident, whether by cigarrette or burning love letters
