I wonder if they have anything about East Prussia. Right after the war, the Soviets went in and killed all the civilians. They actually sent in ethnic Chechyans to do the job because they were good at that sort of thing even back then. Konigsberg, which was a 750 year old city at the time, was totally destroyed. My grandfather and his parents were from East Prussia, and a couple of years ago I tried to find some information about them. I just wanted to know something about my grandfather. But the few records that managed to remain were moved to Hamburg. I found out nothing. I always wondered and still do about my grandfather and his family. All I have are names and dates of births and birthplaces. The Soviets renamed Konigsberg Kaliningrad, and turned it into a military base. Now days, the Russians have become interested in the old city and what life was like there before it was destroyed. I guess that's just the way history goes. The sinful nature of people causes lots of grief to everyone.

I wonder if they have anything about East Prussia. Right after the war, the Soviets went in and killed all the civilians. Jakub Berman was the brains behind much of what occurred in that area. He suggested to Stalin and carried out one of the largest relocations of people ever. Poland's borders were shifted to the west. In Polish history, Berman ranks right up there with Hitler and Stalin as a killer. Try finding out anything about Jakub Berman and his reign of terror after WWII though. He is a nonperson in politically correct circles.
Perhaps today it will be easier to find your relatives. I tired to find mine in the late 1960s . No trace of anyone in a family which owned a great deal of property and employed hundreds. All we have is one photograph and a few letters.
