Wanted to share our observations of Gay Pride Day.
I have never been to a Gay shindig.
I had all these FReeper posts going off in my head as I went through this exp. Thanks it made me sooo observant.
First of all the Dykes' read repulsive adult poems followed by a Puppet show for all the kids.
They PUSHED the following at the boothes:
LiberalFamily Values
Pro-Choice
Free Hepetitis Shots/Aids Testing
Big Caimpange (SP) by Multnomah County Health Dept. on NO SMOKING
Folks I have never seen anything like this. Small Fishing town Girl here.
For some of you Oregonian FReeper you might be interested in the Fact that the PRIDE CHAMPIONAWARD went to Catherine Staffer and her law suit against Lon Mabon.
<>BR The "big" sponsers this year where:
Bud Light
Willamette Week
Absolut Vodka
Equity Foundation and Multnomah COunty Health Dept.
I know allot of you know this but to experience it first hand is very revealing.
The board members were very average Jo kinda folks.
The booth that was great was the dog stuff. (I am a Lab Owner/mom) There was a club of Great Pyrameese(sp) all white dogs in the same park as Gay Pride.
You know I have read all about these things here at FR. I rolled my eyes at some of you but I saw with my own two this lifestyle and there is allot of truth to what I read here on the subject.
Good to be home tonight even if it is my small minded little recluse on the Oregon Coast. :) OP

Jesus for Jews were busy on the counter scene also another grp. against all Pedaphilia and the two Queers next to me made a comment about them saying "if they only knew" (chuckle). I wasn't sure how to take that.
It was a 17 hr day for me and my adult medically fragile son so the hell with my format I just wanted to share it while fresh. Took pics but I will spare you all.

To my fellow Oregonians in Downtown Portland ever here of an iron? Grunge clothes with "Sierra Club" signature back packs. Too Funny. Smells like Eugene around the fountains on Front street.

O remember you talking about possibilly going to this outing. I would not hesitate to post the pictures because I think it is important for people to know what homosexual pride days really look like.

Oregon has always been *famous for its fruits.
And has quite nice apples and pears, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries -- stuff like that, too.

I can't believe I live in the People's Republic of Portland with all the liberal types who control the state legislature and schools here.

Nor can I believe it myself, sometimes. Seems like Rome just before the Germanic invasions. Bored, surfeited people engaged in desultory pursuit of unwholesome pleasures, waiting to be killed off by invading barbarians. (and oh so concerned about being 'oppressed')
