Cheerleader Palo went for her daily swim...its so hot where she lives, she needs to cool off each and every day in the local pool...

Thanks so much for your remarks. It's amazing how my dad really wouldn't talk about his experience until I was married. I remember as a kid sifting through his drawers and finding a purple heart. He grabbed it from me and said he didn't want to talk about it. I remember at age 7 asking if he ever killed anyone in the war (doesn't every kid ask that?) He just got a pained look on his face.

I was in college during Vietnam and that experience was very painful for him. My brother was draft age about the time the tide was totally against the war and the country was certainly unpatriotic. I'm ashamed to say I was in college and protested against it.

Dad is a die hard democrat (we always have Christmas here, imagine 18 conservatives (starting from age 3), my mom who wants to please everyone and diehard dad the impeachement weekend. TV's on in 5 rooms. Everyone tiptoed dad because he thought Clinton was getting a raw deal but we all were secretly delighted. When Livingston got up and announced his resignation...it was like Christmas for Dad. He ran around the house yelling...see Republicans have no morals either!!! It was a hoot.

To finally get to the point...(am I emotional or what)dad warmed to GW early (he always loved Cheney) and since Sept. 11th could be classified as a Bush babe. He is so happy to see the renewed pride in our country and military. This will probably be the last administration that he sees and I am so glad it is one that he can feel good about...

Love that pic...camping is one of my favorite things to do..sitting out at nite, with a blazing campfire, and a bottle of beer, looking at the stars, is a heavenly way to spend time...
