And, oh, by the way, you never addressed any of my points, either. That is one way to admit you cannot answer, but to answer the way you did, that is sad. Truely sad.

Here's an interesting article from a well known Catholic "basher" that makes your point: http://www.nationalreview.com/dreher/dreher061702.asp

It is refreshing to see the myriad of thoughts you have, strong, yet unconnected, be put to print. This man is the closest thing I have waited to see from a Roman Catholic. He wrote about the failure of the church leadership to act, and speaks of the leadership role in perpetuating this grevious sin quite well, yet I didn't really get an idea of his anger at them for doing so. Maybe he is just trying to be polite, but the points this man made are right on!

Hmmmm..How can you say that? You don't know me; you are not
a doctor, and you're definitely not my judge! As for praying for me,
I appreciate anyone praying for me. But not for the reasons you state.
I already know what I believe. But I'll tell you what: I'll pray for you too.
For many reasons; one of them being that you'll gain a change of heart.
You seem bitter, hard, and cynical. That doesn't seem like a Christian
attitude to me. But one thing I'll never say is that you're not a Christian
at all, even if you've said that to me, repeatedly. But, like I said, you don't
know me, or my life. Only God knows me, and what's in my heart, or
yours. Surely you won't dispute that, will you?

In any case, if a Protestant church covers up such cases, they get just as much blame from me as the Catholic Church. Apostates must be removed and I can't imagine a child abuser being anything but apostate.)))

Agreed--but it is the institution and hierarchy of the Catholic church which enabled the priests' long evasion of justice. A Baptist minister would be facing his congregation outside his office door--maybe expecting a rope!--and the congregation can certainly fire him and publicize his misbehavior. That's not as easy in the Catholic church.

All said, I pity deeply the faithful Catholics who must now deal with the lawyers! What good will it do to bankrupt the Church? Think of the schools, the hospitals, the missions...

All pastors are human and all humans sin.

Just like priests are human and all human priests sin, did I hear you correctly?

We can stand together and support each other or let the Christian haters divide and destroy us. Our choice.

Very wise.

And here is the resulting Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People

Notice especially the footnote regarding reporting.

The issue is agenda driven----this will be used to reduce any religious organization

I agree. And the Catholic Church is the largest and had to be attacked and reported on by the media FIRST!

My stepdad is a Baptist, and he is not nearly the bitter,
antagonistic, person you seem to be. I said seem; because
I don't know you, or what's in your life. And no, he's not
a 'liberal', just in case you might have wondered. I know
people of other faiths, who are conservative, and they are
really good, kindly people; who have never put me down
like you have. If I was ever to leave my church, and join
up with another, It would be because of these kindly people,
not because of someone trashing me because of the church
I attend!

That needed to be said. R. Catholics are being attacked from
different directions, as well as by individuals within. As for the
bashers; they can keep on running RC's down; but I wonder who
they think will stand up for them; when the general persecution
starts. Now is the time for all Christians, and other people of
good will, to stick together.

It does seem that the Catholic church has become more closely associated with the homo-sexual act. I may be wrong, but that seems to be the jist of what we see every day in regard to the Catholic pedophiles.

I like your comment here. It seems that neither the media nor church personnel of any denomination are to using the word "Homesexuality" in any of the reporting, discussions, etc.

Strange. Go figure.

I do think the Catholic bishops will deal with the issue of homesexuality at a future conference because it was brought up at the end of the USCCB by a Bishop from Nebraska.

Thank you, Starwind. Your example is one I wish certain
others would follow. I've got non-Catholic people in
my own life; and I've never perceived any hostility from
them. I might not agree with them on some things. But I
figure that's just like two brothers, sisters, cousins in a
family; who disagree, because of different views on things.

Notice that The Boston Globe is biased. No where does the article mention homesexuiality -- the root cause of this problem in any denomination.

Very sad that so many are being led away from the Truth. The pastors would be better off with a millstone around their necks and hurled into the ocean.

You are one pathetic, sick puppy, pal.

No Christian of any kind, that's for damn sure!
