Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I bookmarked for future use. Isn't it amazing how much we don't know but should!

This post has totally screwed up my self-search....it it formatted way off....why did this post do this?
To: rwfromkansas
I don't know why. Perfectly normal post using "view partial source". But why didn't you request help from Admin Moderator before going to Jim and John Rob? My self search is ok.

PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON POST #24 TO REPLY.
I went to the link for Undue Influence, scrolled down to the portion of the page that I used for post #24 . I highlighted the section and right clicked 'VIEW PARTIAL SOURCE' as I did before.
I went to re-post it, and the bulleted text was still screwed up. There's a corrupt line of codes right where the indent gets removed. I didn't notice it when I originally posted. It's a mile long line of "Align right" codes. Very strange. It appears ok on the site, in spite of the error.
Sorry about that. But, you say you can't see what you're replying to. I can NEVER see what I'm replying to, unless I use the back button on my browser to return to the thread. Which is a real pain when I have to back-up through three or four edits of my reply. Am I Logged On????? What's up, lol. Lost in Beta hell. I could not troubleshoot the problem because of this.
Maybe the moderator could offer some help here.:)

Well, it's still screwed up this morning. The Ron Arnold web-site item is all I see at first on "self-search."
Not only that, it starts in the middle of the page, then a few pings from Ernest_at_the_Beach, followed by the beginning of Arnold's web-site page!
Replies I posted last night are nowhere to be found and the format is so strange that I can hardly tell where one reply stops and the next one begins.
So what we have here is "The Perfect Mess!" The combination of the code problem from Arnold's site and the new changes John made to this site are exaserbating the whole deal!!!
I think we need more help here with this problem.

I posted to you earlier on another thread about this problem. I have no idea what could be happening. I thought that earlier in the week this might have been due to the new posting software install.
But Sierra Wasp is still and Black Agnes are still having troubles today. I don't have any problems, so I can't fully explain what they are experiencing.
Thanks for any help you can provide. (see posts from 29 on)
I now see that you deleted the problem reply I posted that caused them trouble. Hoping that has solved the problems.

Ok, I've solved part of the problem. I switched from Netscrape Nagitator to Internet Exploder and "Logged In" all over again. I had tried logging in again on Netscrape to no avail so in desperation, I went to IE.
FreeRepublic "self-search," or "My Comments" or "Posts to you" is totally locked up on my Netscape Browser. I'm not getting any "pings" what-so-ever!!! The "Undue Influence" web-site reply still starts in it's middle under "self-search" then shows a few "pings" from Ernest_at_the_Beach, then presents the beginning of the "Undue Influence" web-site.
Now I remember sometime back when J.R. was gettin upset about reposting other commercial web-sites to F.R. and he may have put some kind of filter on F.R. to prevent it. Could that be the problem?
To: SierraWasp; Admin Moderator
That might be. But I posted a portion of GOPUSA.com early this morning on this thread and got no complaints, but it was just a graphic of a poll, not something one would reply to in the same manner as lengthy text.
http://www.freerepublic.com/fo cus/news/702476/posts?page=13# 13
(In checking the link above, I did notice that the post that follows mine was from a freeper that went to my GOPUSA.com link to freep the poll, and was told he already had voted. Now that was a bit of weirdness.)
But, again, I wouldn't know about any problems, as I did not HAVE any problems, other than the formatting mess-up on the UndueInfluence post. Just polite complaints from 5 freepers that couldn't do a self search or other FR functions any more.
But now I can ask the others if they used NETSCAPE or IE5.x.
TO: Admin Moderator - Since this problem started as soon as the freepathon ended and the thread for the new keyword feature went up, could you troubleshoot from your end? If there is some new filtering software that affects the features of Netscape or InternetExplorer 5x, (primarily the "View Partial Source" feature) could we get some info on it? thanks
