I know, we always see the tourist boats for whale watching in Depoe Bay...we will be there in mid-October, so we will have to make sure we bring our binoculars, and see if we can see any whales...sure would love to...

Did you ever visit the Sea Lion Cave at Florence?..The first time we were there, it was early September...we went down into the cave, and there were about a dozen or so sea lions there...but that cave was well worth the entrance price...I think its one of the largest, if not the absolute largest ocean cave...and its just huge, many stories high, and just beautiful...

One year, I was coming up from Calfornia (at this time, I was taking care of my mom, sick in California) and I was by myself....I decided to just stop into the Sea LIon Cave Tourist shop

But then I noticed the sign said, there were about 400 sea lions in the cave, so I thought it would be worth my while to go down...

Well, I took the elevator down, and when those elevator does opened up, I was greeted by a deafening sound...

Now this was late January, or early February, which is the time of year, ,the female sea lions come in to have their young...There were not 400 sea lions there, there must have been 4000 down there...mom, dads, babies, every inch of that cave bottom covered with sea lions, and sea lions jumping off the rocks into the ocean, sea lions jumping onto the rocks from a swim, and tons of baby sea lions all over...

That was an experience I will never forget...

Its just such fun, sharing these experiences with one who has done them, and to share these adventures with folks new to this part of the country...
