Thanks Mo1, I spent most of the day redoing the chart. Glad that's done. But it turned out real slick. I just copy and paste and poof! Instant chart.

Oregon is the same way. In August, I have flown into Portland, rented a vehicle, picked up my son, his mountain bike and trusty dog. It will be like about 70. We drive towards the Bend Area. Get to the Mt Hood area and it can be <50 in the parking lot for the dog's first tree hunting expedition.

Then drive on to Sisters and watch the thermometer go back up to 70 something for the dog's second tree hunting expedition. Drive over to rt 97 and watch the temp go up 80. If we go to Maupin, it can be 90 plus. If we go south, it will be 85 to 90 in Bend and sometimes hotter in Sun River. The dog has several tree hunting expeditions during these legs of the trip.

Then, when we head back the temps reverse. Then, I fly to Sacramento and the temp is over 100. I drive to Napa and usually it is about 80 here. If I go to the coast, it will be in the 60's.

People in the other states can't believe the variance that we can have in a day or just a few miles.

PS no Copper River Salmon for us this year. The seafood wholesale place will charge our butcher $21/pound. We are looking at about $25/# our cost. I can get fresh Bodega Bay Kings for $6/#.

My hubby runs to the mailbox, 500 feet down the driveway, in bare feet, in winter, in the snow.

Folklore's challenge is for West (By God) Virginia. He will match $5 for any donation from his state. They have to be flying the flag to qualify.
