WASHINGTON - At least 286 New Yorkers were recorded as illegally double-voting in both the city and Florida in the 2000 presidential election, according to a Republican National Committee study. So did 207 New Jersey voters, suggesting double-dippers may have had a significant impact on the super-close election in which President Bush won Florida - and the White House - by just 537 votes.

People get upset with me when I say arrest, put them in their wheelchairs to go to jail, indict them and send them to jury trial unless they plead guilty, pay a fine of $10,000 to the party they voted against. Then, they sign a statement that they will never vote again in any election in the two states they double dipped and can never vote again for a president.

People say how could you be that cruel to these old people.

My response, "Voter fraud is like an act of terrorism against those of us who vote legally and only once. Their extra vote destroys my vote, and that is a vile hate crime against me. I would volunteer to go help round up these double dipping criminals and deliver them to jail in their wheelchairs or pushing their walkers without a bit of compassion for these SOBs who cancel my vote.

Davis will count on the double dippers, illegal aliens voting and of course the old Rat standby, the votes of the dead rats!

When I moved to OK from TX, I got a card in the mail from my County in Texas (Kendall -- Republican Capital of TX) verifying that I was now registering to vote in Norman, OK which I had to send back -- if it had been a mistake and they didn't get it in 30 days, I was still removed from the rolls in Kendall County. I had to fill out my prior voting county when registering here in OK and they actually notified my county in Texas! That is how it should work everywhere.

Don't forget the dogs! Remember when Sen Kit Bond took a dog on the floor of the Senate to introduce it to Sen Carnahan so she could meet one of her voters.

The key there was that an large portion of the black community has unique first names, especially for females.

Yes, and they get very pissed off if you can't figure out how to spell their names the first time you hear them.

"Whut, you mean you cain't spell LaShaaFaNiquashondiaa?"

What you posted here, makes this double dipping voting even more scary:

I know this to be true. My San Francisco company employs (well, we had a lot more in Nov 2000 to be honest) quite a few just-out-of-college young liberal arts types. Just before the election, I was sitting at a table next to a group of them where one explained that since he was still registered to vote at his parent's residence in Florida, he requested and got a Flordia absentee ballot, and he was also registered at his San Francisco residence, so he could vote twice, and intended to do. A couple of the others said they knew a lot of recent graduates who were going to do that. The only other question seemed to be whether to cast their double votes for Nader or Gore. This double voting fraud is hardly a matter of a few hundred people here and there, this was apparently common knowledge and practice at college campuses all over the country. It doesn't seem like an easy fraud to catch, either, and one easily available to every out-of-state college student in the country.

Until Liz and you guys brought out this college double dipping, I had thought it was just a life style of old rats with two residences.

This could be even bigger than the old rats double dipping!

Big deal. So they've found them. Have they turned over the information to the appropriate DA's for criminal prosecution or are they just going to whine about it?

The republican party has no courage when it comes to making people pay for their crimes. If they're really concerned, they'd turn over the info to the cops for prosecution.

Why not request a Voting Rights Act investigation? Send copies to the Civil Rights Commission as well, and toss in stuff to the judiciary committees. Hoist the Left by their own petard.

There's another side to this:
Suppose you live part or even most of the year in New York, pay taxes there, etc. - You'd want a say in how your tax money is spent, and who spends it, right?
Now suppose you spend the rest of the year in Florida, own a home there, drive the streets - You'd want a say in how things are done there also, wouldn't you?
If only to make sure that Broward County (or Collier, or Lee) didn't balance their budgets on the backs of you and the other snowbirds?

So you register both places, so you can at least vote in the local elections. Is that wrong?

Here, in Sonoma County, for the last two presidential elections, NO IDENTIFICATION is necessary!!! When I pulled out my CA DL, all of the volunteer pollsters chimed in that it wasn't necessary to show them identification!!! I yelled that it certainly was... the county never did return my calls. So, as you know, there are more fake social security cards here, not to mention the similar IRS identification numbers are used by migrants! There must be some way, somehow to check valid ID's... any suggestions as to how to push this issue???

If you meet the residency and other legal requirements in both locations, then you are legally entitled to vote in local and state elections. It is still ilegal to vote twice in Federal elections and if you choose to do so, you should be thrown in jail and left to rot.

Right. The Pubbies need a spine implant. Maybe we ought to recommend a good plastic surgeon?

Yes, it's wrong. One man, one vote. That's what it's all about.

There's many more ways to express opinions on local issues. But voting twice is not it.

....how 'bout when they roll in the voting machines to polling places with votes already on them before the polls open?..........

Now you are talking Jesse Jackson's language. And he learned from experts. Even so, any b@stard who negates my vote should be in jail.

This is the critical issue here, and you state it so well:

Any b@stard who negates my vote should be in jail.

Your vote is cancelled out when someone votes twice. It undermines our
unique system of "one man-one vote" and effectively disenfranchises you.

It sure cuts your chances of being found out, unless there is a real key such as SSN.

Voter fraud is a terrible crime. Those who organize and enable mass voter fraud should lose their citizenship if found guilty of this terrible crime.

Any individual found guilty of voter fraud, should lose his/her right to vote forever! Then they should have pay a fine of $10,000 to the candidate or his/her party that they used an illegal vote to cancel a legal vote. Make that $10,000 fine for each illegal vote they cast and ten years in jail if they can't pay the fine. The three strike law could also be used. If guilty of voting illegally three times, you kiss freedom good bye and spend the rest of your life comforting Bubba and his gang in Jail.!

LOL. Election night in Cali will be a live rerun of the "Night Of The Living Dead," cult classic.
