WASHINGTON - At least 286 New Yorkers were recorded as illegally double-voting in both the city and Florida in the 2000 presidential election, according to a Republican National Committee study. So did 207 New Jersey voters, suggesting double-dippers may have had a significant impact on the super-close election in which President Bush won Florida - and the White House - by just 537 votes.

A high profile double voter might grab a headline or two. If such exists.

No kidding! That would be great. I would love to have them find Alec Baldwin or Martin Sheen double dipping. LOL, lock them up for 4 years and the message would be served.

I don't know if you saw the videos of the late night voters in Gayfrisco voting way pass the official time to stop voting or not the evening of the election, Nov/2000.

They looked like a Gay Pride Day Parade group, the welfare of Frisco group, the street people of Frisco, the renta vote/mob of Frisco, half of Mexico, and that scene from the old Star Wars Bar scene. I had to hose down my tv with just about 30 seconds of that on it. I had it on for the early returns which were late as voting was still going on after the time the polls should have closed.

When I saw that I knew we were in trouble.

...double voting fraud is hardly a matter of a few hundred people here and there, this was apparently common knowledge and practice at college campuses all over the country.....(not) an easy fraud to catch, either....easily available to every out-of-state college student in the country.

As Grampa Dave said, what an eye-opener. One solution is to ban registering anyone living in a dorm.
Colleges might also supply absentee ballots to dorm residents verified as being registered in home states.

In some Democratic districts, even when people send in their new voter registration cards for another district, the old district refuses to take them off the list, thus creating a double-vote possibility. While the real person votes in their new district, anybody could pull the lever for them in their old district.

I don't blame the people as much as the apparatus.

Yeah, and Whoppi, Rosie, Bwabwa, Rob Reiner, Michael Eisner, too. These barf
libs usually have residences in Hollywarped, New York, and the Hamptons besides.

What can be done about it?

My suggestion is you contact your local district committee, and volunteer to be a poll-watcher. This way, you can kind of keep tabs on any shenanigans, as well as put the Dems on notice.

If you can't get the day off from work, volunteer for the early shift or the late shift at the polls.

Does anyone have a link to some list of local party offices that could take such volunteer?

The apparatus needs fine-tuning, true. But people have consciences (well,
all except the Clintonistas) and should know what they're doing is wrong.

....how 'bout when they roll in the voting machines to polling places with votes already on them before the polls open?..........

What's this?  There were actual instances of this happening?

Contact your federal, state, county and local legislators and assert why you
want to volunteer. If nobody knows you're ticked about this, what's the use?

Yeah, it happens. There's a number of voting
mechanisms. In some areas this is very easy to do.

Thanks, but I'm already signed up. I was thinking if someone had a list they could post, it might help others sign up too.

Soon as I posted it, I realize I should have re-worded it. The problem may not be the voters. It may be the people who work the registrations, i.e, the party appparatchiks.

This supports the supposition that Democrats can't win without cheating. Voter fraud is, I believe, is a necessary tactic of their electoral strategy.

I appreciate your analysis and once again you are right on.

We as Freepers need to file a class action suit against the DNC or every precinct where voter fraud is found. If a GOP votes twice he is to be sued too.

Honest voters are being denied our constitutional rights by being voided by double dippers. Every state that had double voters should be sued.

Any Freeper Lawyers up to the task? I am tired of being screwed by the cheaters. This is a 14th amendment issue.

Seems to me that if anyone is caught double dipping that person's right to vote should be withdrawn.

In PA, you do not need any ID at all to vote, just state a name. If you know people on the rolls who won't vote, it's very very very easy to commit fraud.

If you need to present ID to travel freely (airlines, etc.) you must present to vote.

Seems to me that at the top of every state's absentee ballot form, a bold statement should explain that state's penalty for fraudulent voting, and require a signature of the voter that he understands the law and the penalty, so before he licks the stamp, he is seriously reminded that he just committed a felony and may spend time in the slammer.

"Everyone who cares about vote fraud should step up to the plate, and volunteer to work"

Put up or shut up. I agree completely.
