GRACE: Well Tom, I would have to agree with you. If police are searching the area with helicopters looking for this guy, that leads me to think that he's got some very important information that they want.
Tom Smart, message to the kidnapper tonight, what do you have to say?

I'm not a sir, and I wasn't suggesting that I do the steering, but rather that we all do. What I'm suggesting steering away from is stuff like the rude anti-Mormon posts, the idiotic "psychic" stuff that was turning up on a previous thread, and wildly speculative stuff by posters who haven't bothered to skim the basic known facts before assembling their theories. But of course if you want to do any of those things, you're perfectly free to.

I never thought of that, but I suppose you could be right. I guess they do things like that don't they? If so, then I apologize to Tom Smart for what I was thinking. It is just that his behavior has bothered me from day one, I am not sure what it is, but something is wrong with how he is acting.

Look on the bright side....your screen name is one helluva ice breaker. LOL
Later.

Perhaps the investigators will reach the same conclusion you have, and advise the family to replace the uncle with another spokesperson.

No matter what any of us thinks, lets pray she is found unharmed.
Nite all.

Can't say I've ever given that much thought. I'm not a Mormon, but I guess I always sort of figured that a guy who could come back from the dead wouldn't have any trouble landing wherever on the planet he wanted to.

"But it's also about -- everybody has issues no matter what. It crosses the boundaries on everything."They are Mormons aren't they?

I would also think the police would already have considered a sketch artist, but for reasons unbeknownst to us, nixed it.Do you remember ever hearing of an eyewitnessed case of abduction at gunpoint that DIDN'T result in a sketch or photo being shown all over the place? I don't.
To: Utah Girl
What I have been hearing on our local news here in Utah is that the police have yet to exclude anyone as a potential suspect. The Smarts have continued to say they have nothing to hide and will work with the authorities. Thanks, Utah Girl for your updates here.

Glad you've found my input helpful, but I don't think I'm quite up to becoming a moderator. I rather prefer interacting with people through posts, and I'd probably keep trying to reason with them long after I should have hit the "Banned" button :)

i don't agree with any anti-Morman statements...I can't..I am Catholic and look what I have to face...
If you think some of these posters are batting around ridiculous theories, you should have read the first ones from a week ago...some where saying that the 9 year old was in on it and that ES had planned the whole thing
believe me, no posters here tonite...exc maybe the polygamist one....can touch some of the vile comments made when this first happened
This place is for ideas and they may not be to your or my liking ...attack the ideas ,but don't belittle those that have them

"My guess is the girl is pregnant, and by a family member...."
Obviously you have no clue about Salt Lake City. The mainline Mormon religion does not endorse polygamy. It's the kooks in the Utah desert who do.

I haven't seen him since this weekend, since I don't have a TV at my weekday residence. Maybe I'd be more disturbed by his behavior if I saw it first hand. Sooner or later we'll probably get to the bottom of this. I'm just inclined to lean towards non-sinister explanations when I can find them. But of course something sinister could still turn up, even if we could find non-sinister explanations for everything we've seen and heard.

Sorry if I came across that way -- I didn't mean to.

Alright then, a radio talk show host!!! :0)

It's WAY past my bedtime, so I'm turning in now. I probably won't be online again before Sunday night, and I hope Elizabeth and her abductor will have been found by then. Keep up the great armchair detective work :)
To: GovernmentShrinker
Thanks. That case rings a bell now that you've mentioned it. Please excuse an old man's faulty memory. Let's hope and pray that something good comes from this case.

I agree with bizarre. The statement that this young girl is taken by someone that cares for her. A Father that is not head of his family but an Uncle head of the family? Yes something Bizarre. Sounds to me like Brother, Uncle, Head of Family or should I say Clan may be the very person responsible for this girls disappearance. I think these parents were selling their home and moving away so as not to loose their daughter. At age 14 she is ready to be someone's wife. Brother upset that the father called the police, he made the statement I dont' know what got into my brothers. I think the brother knew the father wouldn't take the girl away until after she graduated and graduation was getting close. Brother had to act before graduation if there was any chance of getting Elizabeth. With all the bizarre statements this uncle has made, the detectives need to take this uncle into custody and bring on the questions. This case is looking more and more like a Washington DC cover up. I wonder how many wives this uncle has or another family member has. At age 14 it's time for her to reproduce to keep the clan growing. So I agree she would be taken care of but now that this story got to the Media and blown up for the whole world to hear, this girl is no longer safe. They will have to kill the girl in order keep her quite and away from the police and news media.

Heard this morning that the Edmunds man had been at the candlelight vigil last week. Police questioned him because he looked suspicious, drinking beer but let him go.
