Barb and Dave are the same age....I figure she may be his first wife or the girlfriend that killed his first marriage. Either way I think they have known each other for a long time and there is a coverup going on. Barb is not going to be called.

DW didn't know Barbara prior to seeing her with BVD at Dad's before 2/1. I suspect that he may have gotten her number that night and made arrangements to go to the desert with her the next day. This may be why the prosecution hasn't called her as a witness. If true, she's DW's alibi.

Regarding your Barb/DW theory...why would he ask to meet Barb if he already knew her?...why would Barb have not told BVD that she knew him?...are you thinking they were in chahoots..(wear your boots) somehow prior to the girlscout cookie incident and for what reason?
