And many on these threads have been blowing hot air out the old pie-hole -- Hoping to be able to say 'I told you so' when it's all over. Others simply entertain themselves by throwing out theory after idiotic theory, not concerning themselves with the fact that they are postulating at the expense of the sufferers, the family of the poor missing girl.

My theory is that there are better minds at work on this case than all the amateur 'dicks' on this thread combined, and I would actually be worried if I thought some of these posters even had a clue. Because at that point, I would know that all is lost.

By the way, I'm SURE most of you are wrong, but you won't hear what I think about who the guy is -- I'm just not that comfortable with the idea of mucking around in another person's misery.

It looks like the national newswires have picked up the Salt Lake Tribune story that an extended family member is the prime suspect. I keep refreshing the SL Trib website, but the story isn't there. The thing that worries me is if it is a family member, why don't they put the screws to him??? And the news articles confirms that this information is coming from four police agencies.

Well, it is three hours past my bedtime, and I have to be at work in five hours. I'm off to bed, talk to you all tomorrow morning. Hopefully, there will be a resolution in the case.

Uncle Tommy let it slip tonight that he also had taken a polygraph, when LKL show sub host Nancy Grace asked him. It just seemed to slip out, and then he tried to cover it for a second, but then said yes, and I believe he said he passed it. And someone reported yesterday that on the Today show, the Smart grandfather said that everyone in the family had taken one. (Though the grandmother tried to cover for that one too!)

ET ~~~ you are correct that this is a forum where discussion is welcomed. But "in olden days" the practice was to discuss and debate facts or to debunk false info.

I am not directing this comment to or at any specific person on this thread but what I have seen here, and on other threads about this case, is wild speculation with no factual basis. In the past, one of the great values of FR was that the wheat got separated from the chaff but on far too many threads these days, spreading the chaff around seems to be the point rather than looking for the wheat. We are all entitled to voice our opinions, as long as they are within the guidelines that JimRob has established, but it would be more beneficial if people would stick to a discussion of facts and issues rather than unfounded guesses about what is happening.

The Edmunds guy is probably hiding out in fear. His acts sound not typically criminal but mentally ill. I suspect he's very paranoid now.

I posted on another thread something about the Mark Klaas interview tonight on O'Reilly. Here's what I posted (I'll just copy it here to save me the trouble of rephrasing it!):

Did anyone see Mark Klaas on O'Reilly tonight? Something else seems to be going on behind the scenes. Mark seems to have gotten from the police that this guy Edmunds is not really being looked at for this crime, but that they're just using this situation to bring Edmunds in on some outstanding warrants. Did anyone else get that from this interview?

Elizabeth had some very sad eyes.

I haven't heard any of the interviews, and don't know much about this case, but I did see a photo of her in the paper and the first thing that popped into my head was Jon Benet Ramsey. The photo was a professional photo and the kid was made up like an adult. There's something very peculiar about parents who allow their girls to get made up that.

My instinct as a father tells me that there's a lot more to this story than we're being told.
