Social Security and Medicare. I thought I was pretty clear.

I don't think you were clear, but that is beside the point.
Do you believe that "rich folks with estates" don't pay as much into SS and Medicare as you do?
Or do you believe that "rich folks with estates" will get more from SS and Medicare than you will?

Or is there a little scumbag Democrat devil on your shoulder whispering socialist idiocies like "fair share" and "the rich are better able to pay" into your ear?

SS and Medicare is paid to recipients regardless of income. As well, both deductions are capped on a yearly basis. Once you pay the maximum amount per year, you pay no more for that year. In other words, the person who makes $105k/year pays the same amount of SS/Medicare as the persons who makes $1.5million/year.

Get your head out of your butt. The arguments presented are both coherent and accurate.

My understanding is that many beneficiaries receive more from Social Security than they put in. I haven't read anything that would suggest this isn't true of people in the higher income brackets. If they get more than they put in, someone else paid for it. I am sure there are plenty of other examples of people in the higher income brackets on the receiving end of government largesse. I am not saying--as you seem to think I am--that we should stick it to the rich. I am saying that everyone is "on the take" in one way or another, which means we support some particular spending programs of the government. And until we get spending under control, someone will have to pay for it. Given that, I am going to base my support on how it affects me personally. I assume that's what most sensible people do. Nothing against people with estates over 7 million dollars, but I am too concerned about relieving them of their tax burden at my expense. Tax cuts should be offset with either spending cuts or a tax increase somewhere else. That way we know who the winners and losers are. Then I could make an informed decision. This is only the 10th time or so I have explained this.
