Arbil Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a major office of the ruling Baath party in Baghdad, injuring several party members and policemen guarding the building. Eyewitnesses said the attack took place 0:08 p.m. local time on Thursday.
The attackers were driving a white Oldsmobile and started shooting from their Kalashnikovs at the building as they speeded by.
A hunt mounted by the security services and police forces has failed to capture the attackers.
It is the second reported attack in Baghdad in a week. Earlier gunmen also attacked a police station in the heart of Baghdad, killing a non-commissioned officer and wounding a guard.
The attackers hurled grenades at the second floor of al-Baldiyat police station, occupied by members of the security services.

If the security forces cannot locate them after a few days it probably means there are sympathizers in the city helping the hide.
Could be a shot across the bow from a revolutionary group.

The Iran government is so represive that this action is something to take notice.
If this happened in metropolitan place full of scofflaws, like Washington DC for example, people might not even notice.

If they can't locate them after a few days, they'll probably come up with random perps to execute.

a white Oldsmobile Convertible? Could be the one my mom owned for about 3 months in 1965. Had power, but the driver's door wouldn't stay shut on right turns. No seatbelts, got exciting sometimes.
