Please Pray for Elizabeth

Elizabeth Smart was abducted from her bedroom in the middle of the night one week ago. The Salt Lake City Police have now identified a man they wish to question in her disappearance. We cannot comprehend the horror this child has endured throughout the past seven days. Please join me in keeping her lifted up in prayer as we ask for strength and wisdom for Elizabeth, her parents, her family, and for the investigators. Thank you!

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that You watch over Your Word to perform it. Thank You that Your mighty angels are encamped around about Elizabeth, and that You are with her. Father, we plead for Your mercy for her. Please provide wisdom to the investigators and lead them directly to her. We pray that You would set her captor to confusion and cause him to become ensnared in his own trap. By Your mercy, please give amazing strength and courage to her family as they endure these tortuous days. Shield them from the criticism and insensitive comments of those who second-guess. Father, we commit Elizabeth to You and pray that she, herself would continue to pray to You so that her heart is comforted. Help her, Dear Lord. You have promised never to leave us nor forsake us, and we know that You have not forsaken Elizabeth. We ask You, Father, to bring this child home to the loving arms of her family. May Your Name be glorified as we wait for Your mighty hand to move. Hear our prayers, Father, as we offer them in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Been praying non stop. Been praying too that the person who took her has a message from heaven to return her to her family.

A horrible thought occured to me while I was driving this morning. My mind kept wandering back to several of the radical Mormon groups in Utah, Idaho, Arizona and Mexico.

Our family lived in rural Utah for about a year. It was as if I was living in a foreign country.

Some of these groups have a very limited supply of future brides (young girls) because of inbreeding and poligamy. In the old days people with blonde hair and fair complexions were considered to be more virtueous. Perhaps a member of one of these radical groups stole her to become his bride.
