Yes but as you know, all Mormon men and [post-pub.] adolescent boys are elders, so that is nothing.

Like anybody has milkmen anymore.Well, we call him the Schwann's guy...and he also sells frozen meals and ice cream. Some of our neighbors fondly call him "the milkman". Don't know who the milkman is in this case or who he works for, just thought I'd throw that out.

Thanks for your comments. There's really no point in blaming the parents. *No one* is the perfect parent. By all probability, this was a kind of crime that 'shouldn't have happened,' but it did. I am definitely praying for a break & that the girl is still alive.

This is a large family, and they probably go through large quantities of milk regularly. We had milk delivery about 7-8 years ago when there were lots of little ones around and it was just exhausting to drag them all to the store. The milk did cost more because it was hormone- and antibiotic-free. There are still milk delivery services here & I would think SLC would be a good market.

They had identified him through a partial license plate number provided by a milkman who had seen a vehicle in the area arround the time of the girl's disappearance. Milkman?....don't milkmen usually wear light colored clothing (or am I watching too many Andy of Mayberry, Leave it to Beaver reruns?
I didn't even know there were anymore milkmen. My goodness I am 45 and those went out here in Texas when I was a child.

Just for the record, Elizabeth is a very pretty girl, much like Polly Klaas was, and as such she may have been a bit precocious regarding the opposite sex. I read initially that police were checking her computer for clues, etc. One theory that comes to mind is she may have been conversing with someone on-line, maybe pretending to be older...she sent her picture to him, he was interested in meeting up with her and somehow found her, either with or without her help, etc. I haven't heard this theory on this board before and just thought I'd put it out there. P.S. I'm the nother of three teens, two of them girls, so I know a little bit about how a teenaged girl's mind works!Your self-righteous misinterpretation of my comments were not appreciated. Perhaps you should look to your own thoughts and ask yourself why you translated them as you did.(Inkie)
I was referring to the fact that no one knows her and would wonder if she would tell lies to another for attention.
There are some of us poster who must hold our tongue towards those posters, who can't help in engaging in speaking unfavorable another they really don't know!
I pray those around your children are more charitable
Maybe my word (gossip) was a wrong choice, but I feel one is innocent until proven otherwise!

Where there is a behavior, there is some kind of logic.

Adolescent boys are Deacons, unless they are missionaries than they would be young men.

Oh technically you are right, but these Elders they send out, though I guess they are NOT adolescents any more, are just so fresh faced and innocent it is hard to think they are actually 18. They look about twelve sometimes.
I guess they would have be 18 to be an Elder, right, and thus no longer legally an "adolescent"?
I am so often reminded as we see the country going downhill, of how Joseph said, "When all others have forsaken it, the ELDERS OF THIS CHURCH [that is, the young men 18-23 or so] will rally around the U.S. Constitution, and save its tattered shreds."
I also often remembered, back in 1964 when it was fulfilled, how Brigham Young preached a sermon in 1858, I believe it was, in which he said "The time is coming, when the President of the United States, will COME TO US IN THIS CITY [SLC] to SEEK OUR ADVICE as to HOW TO GOVERN HIS PEOPLE ARIGHT."

Like Mohammed Atta leaving detailed instructions on how he wanted his body to be handled, washed, and buried, with no touching by women, and no touching of his genitals by anyone, and no visits by women to his grave after he was buried -- just before he got on a fully-fueled jetliner to fly it straight into a WTC tower? No, there's not always some kind of logic. Some wackos are just plain wacko.

But she knows I'm 40 and is just trying to get a bump in her allowance.Tact should be rewarded!

Seems to me that the system was too sophisticated and should have been replaced with something more manageable.

I would like for you to QUOTE VERBATIM from my post where I STATED that I did not understand why people are so concerned about missing children. We are ALL concerned but some of the absolute nonsense that has been posted on this thread is not helpful. And, as much as we all want this little girl to come home, the odds are very much against that happening. In the overwhelming majority of cases such as this one, the victim is killed within the first 12 hours.
I think you need to get out more, Homeschooler. The emotional ranting displayed in your last 2 posts would suggest a serious case of cabin-fever.

lol!
You know nothing about me and my home habits, dear. Perhaps you should reconsider your own posts (namely **she's dead**) and calm down.
I think it best we end this discussion with one another.
Now, if you'll excuse me...it's time for me to take my daughter to track and field class.

I simply meant there is logic in their mind. Wacko's YES!!

Seems to me that the system was too sophisticated and should have been replaced with something more manageable. Normally that "stay" mode is programmed into the system at installation, so it's very simple and internal motion detectors are automatically disabled. But what happens in reality is that the customer says that they want MAXIMUM security. That they want all or most internal motion detectors operable even when everyone is still inside home, that once everyone is in bed they will arm the system and it won't be a problem. That lasts for the first couple of false alarms when someone goes downstairs for a glass of milk then the homeowner just decides it's easier not to turn it on.
If they had had a properly installed system on all doors and windows and had it initially programmed so that if it was armed and no one left the home after it was armed, whoever took the girl would have tripped it when he breached the perimeter and this would not be a story. Very sad, but people just don't take this stuff seriously. They don't think it all through -- it's part of being in denial.
PS I do not sell alarm systems, though I did once. I am, however, a Personal Protection Instructor on a volunteer basis.
To: Liberty Ship
They need you in SLC.
We all take things for granted, but I guess it took something really evil like this to happen for people to realize how easy it is to become a victim. Coming from a New York state of mind, I consider everyone to be a predator unless proven innocent.
