Should US bomb Islamic holy places in case of major offense?

The opinion I've encountered on the web:
"I'm writing this message to express my deepest concern with the current situation in regard international terrorism.
My opinion is that this is not the time to play in civilized way with the totally uncivilized enemy which does not consider honest and open fight to be one of its priorities. The enemy should know that evil directed at our people will return evil with no hope to remain untouched by the US.
As we all know the enemy now is Islamic fundamentalism in its most aggressive form - these people keep infringing on our sacred places and liberties; they should realize that their own objects of worship are therefore in danger too. I really believe this to be the only way to deal with fanaticism - let them know that in case of major offense on the US, the very Holy places of Islam (like Kaaba, etc. - I'm sure these places are well known to specialists) will be targeted and destroyed.
Our duty is to show those people that the good is able to defend itself even if it entails paying a high price (meaning historical, cultural and humanitarian value of such monuments). The democracy must survive in this war."

We need to put the islamaballs in a vise and let them know it's squeeze-time if they do a WMD on us. They will all be dust--Mecca, Riyadh--all of it.

The democracy must survive in this war." Our fore fathers did not fight for a democracy, quite the contrary, they fought for a republic, going as far as a quarantee to each state a republic form of government.

Nah- just take over Saudi oil fields. No money = no jihad.

"i know its not very PC but all islam is the enemy" You are correct! Your statement is VERY un-PC!
However, your sense of survival is fine tuned.

Only if they are holding military targets or are houseing terrorists, otherwise it will just piss off the Arabs and will accomplish nothing.

NO...we need to let them know that their Holy places are sacred to us as well...and that no matter how much they use Holy places to recruit...arm..empower...and hide terrorists and spread terrorism from these Holy places...no matter how much in men, material, arms , chemical biological or nuclear they hide in their Holy places we will honor these places as sanctuaries and never never touch them...so help us we promise....honest....no really....cross our hearts...and hope to spit...trust us...go right ahead...its ok....really.....

I think Americans are too easily suckered by the "Holy Places of Islam," to the detriment of more strategic miltary targets. Holy places live in the imagination. Their physical presense or absense is ultimately not an important matter.
It is foolish to think you will defeat zealots by intimidation. Take their continued fanaticism for granted regardless of your action, and your plans will be better. You defeat zealots by killing them, wiping out their ability to organize, and starving them from meaningful support. Not by a symbolic gesture.
The martyred rubble of Mecca would be just as effective a motivator as Mecca itself to the Islamic radical.

We need to tell the Islamic world. Attack America, or Americans abroad and Mecca, Bagdad, and Tehran will glow in the dark for the next 100 years. Oh, one more thing, Islamic people, that sacred rock you walk around, we will use it as a base in our toilets.

I wrote the same idea in an opinion post October 13, 2001 under the title "A modest Proposal, You are either with us or against us". We basically say the same thing. I wish I knew how to link it..

They need to be killed. By whatever means. They won't be stopped unless they're dead, pure and simple. If our leaders can figure the most effective way to accomplish that, I'll support it - no matter
what it involves.
Kill them and keep killing until they get the message.

Couldn't agree more friend. It appears the Mr. Cheney has come to the same conclusion.
Time to take the gloves off...and I don't give two sh*ts and a pickle about what the French or Kofi Anan think...

I like your style...
Spoken like a focused warrior...
Forget the icons and emblems.....Kill the enemy in large numbers....
Once we have wrecked havoc on their asses, they will need their Holy places to pray to for forgiveness.

Today we have our federal government acknowledging every form of threat one can imagine from nuclear and chemical to biological not to mention other forms, ie bombing, homicide bombers, sabotage etc.
And instead of running every non citizen out of the country today, all our politicians can do is scheme on how to secure the vote of the illegal aliens and wring their hands over offending non citizens and the world community.
Destroying the so called holy places of satans agents would only be symbolic and would stop nothing.
Running every last one of them out of the country today and securing our borders would have an immediate, dramatic affect!
