Psalm 91
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust."
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation."
Thank you for this beautiful day and for the countless blessing that you give. Thank you that you are the God of another chance, that you are a loving gracious Father not a taskmaster. Thank you for family and friends, and the wonderful times that we share with each other.
Father I lift up President Bush and pray for his safety as well as the safety of his family. May he seek you in all things and guard his time with you zealously. Keep his mind and his heart on you and I pray that he will be obedient to you no matter the cost.
Father I pray that you would send revival to this land and light our hearts on fire for Your word. I pray this in Your Son’s holy and precious name, Amen.
Thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to die for us to pay for our sins. Father, we are so grateful to know You. Without You, life simply would not make sense. There would be no meaning. With You, we can rejoice in Your love all the days of our lives, and look forward to eternity in heaven with You.
We come to You with grateful hearts that we are Americans. We love our country, Father, and we want to commit it to You, that Your will would be done here, and that Your name would be glorified in our midst. Please send forth Your Holy Spirit to dwell with us and be present in a mighty way in all aspects of our lives.
Our prayers are lifted for Your servant, George W. Bush, and we ask that You would continue Your good work in him. Help him to honor You all the days of his life, and please help him to make his life a letter of love to You. Let him do good works in Your name, and may Your Word be his moral compass. Help him to be fed by it each and every day, and may Your Spirit guide everything that he does. Father, he certainly has been obedient to your teachings about being good to his enemies. Time after time he has been wronged and publicly criticized, but has risen above vengeance and has been kind and respectful toward his enemies. We thank You, Father, for the strength You are giving him. We pray that You would continue to pour forth Your wisdom unto him regarding all issues, but especially those pertaining to the unborn.
Hear our prayers for the judges who are awaiting approval by the Senate Judicial Committee, Lord. Please convict the hearts of Senator Leahy and the others on the committee to bring the nominees to full Senate vote. Father, tear down the strongholds that are keeping our Senators from doing what is right for this nation. Please let partisan politics be replaced with the cooperation necessary for protecting the people of America. We pray that You would place men and women of God in our courtrooms and that the law of the land would be upheld.
Father, day after day, we see more and more signs of the end times. Help us to be ready to hear the Lord Jesus approaching the door to our hearts, for Your Word tells us that He will stand at the door and knock. Help us to set our houses in order, Lord, that we may not be caught off guard, but that we may rejoice to know that You have come to carry all believers up into the clouds of heaven with You. What a wonderful day that will be, Precious Lord, when we can see You face to face. Help us to use these days to do all that we can to share the powerful message of love in the Gospel with those we meet. Thank You, Father, for Your amazing grace. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

I do not wish to alter the purpose of this thread, but I'm wondering if you would join me tonight and in the ensuing days to pray for Elizabeth Smart who was kidnapped from her home in Utah. This has weighed so heavily on my heart and I cannot imagine the anguish and terror experienced not only by this young, innocent girl, but also her parents and siblings. I ask you to pray in agreement with me for her safe return. Thank you for allowing me this departure from our usual prayer topics. God bless you and your prayers.
Our Merciful Father,
We come to You as believers in Your omnipotence and Your compassion. Surely You know all that has taken place in Elizabeth's life. You know exactly where she is right now. Father, we pray that You would show her Your mighty angels surrounding her, just as You showed Elisha the heavenly army and the chariots of fire. We pray that You would give her wisdom to see a way of escape. We pray that you would set her captors into confusion, and that they would become ensnared in their own traps. Bind and sever the hands that hold this girl captive. Send rescuers to the very place where she is being held. Hold up her parents and siblings with Your righteous right hand. Father, we plead for Your mercy. We know You have a plan. We trust in You, Lord, even though we do not understand. Dear God, hear our prayers for Your divine intervention on behalf of this child, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Father, tonight we can't help but think of Elizabeth Smart. Our hearts bleed for her family in deep anguish. You are El Roi - the God who sees. Elizabeth is not lost to you. We pray that the God who sees will reveal her whereabouts to authorities very soon. Comfort her family and draw them closer to yourself. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Almighty God,
I bring before You the tragedy of Elizabeth Smart in Utah. I ask You to intervene and return her to her parents.
Protect President Bush and his family, and those who work with him. Let no evil come against them, and keep them safe both in their physical lives and in their spiritual ones. Grant the President wisdom in all he does.
I thank You Lord for Your help in all we have been through this past year. Your caring and love helped us all make it through so many trying times. Grant us further protection as we fight this war.
