Never buy wool again. Choose only cotton, synthetics and other non-animal fibers. -PETA

What morons. When sheep get sheared they don't get killed. The wool grows back

The Lewis and Clark expedition came to prefer the taste of dog over all other available game including buffalo and elk.

God did not give us incisors to rip up celery with.

"I ask to be born only if I can be kept in a clean, well-lighted stall and spoon fed rich protein supplements until my tender calf flesh is perfectly smooth and white. Let me then live on in my butcher's case as veal cutlets at $5.99 a pound."

"Six million Jews died in concentration camps, but six billion broiler chickens will die this year in slaughter houses. -Ingrid Newkirk (PETA)"

Please tell me that she didn't really make this comment...

For my taste vegetarians are too violent. they engage in the wanton slaughter of other living things to sdurvive and assuage their consciences by telling themselves they are more moral than the lower categories of mankind. This was a part of the problem with the morality of Adolph Hitler who was a well known vegetarian. The equating of the murder of six million human beings in extermination camps to the harvesting of chickens is such a vast cheapening of human life that should it become the norm than humans will be so easily killed that we will once more endure an age of barbarism. Plants and bacteria are also alive. Insects are sensate beings

I for one will stay loyal to and cast my lot with human suffering. Yes, I love my dogs but I am first and foremost a human being. I further recognize it is the natural order for animals to eat each other that is the way it is false philosophy does not change any of this.

"Look deep into the eyes of any animal, and then for a moment, trade places, their life becomes as precious as yours and you become as vulnerable as them. Now smile if you believe all animals deserve our respect and our protection, for in a way, they are us, and we are them."

You first.

"He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man..." -Isaiah 66:3

Taken in context this has nothing to do with prohibiting killing of animals, per se.

My white and blue parakeet has just flown over to the back of my chair. He is, in fact, saying a few words to me. He likes people.

I have a responsibility to treat him and my dog (a white and brown Jack Russell terrier) kindly, to return the love they give, and to take care of their needs.

That said, I ain't giving up my steaks.

Years back, Virginia Postrel of REASON wrote a piece called "The Green Road to Serfdom", and in it were quotes just like these.

Her article header was: At least the Socialists claimed to like people.

Put a small child in a playpen with an apple and a bunny. If s/he eats the apple and plays with the bunny, s/he's normal;but if s/he eats the bunny and plays with the apple, I'll buy you a new car. Somewhere along the line we must have been TAUGHT to do the wrong thing. --Maynard

With the exception of Einstein and Mark Twain, this is a collection of some of the most monumentally stupid statements I've ever seen.

The absence of logic is appalling. My mind is boggling...

If the death of one rat cured all diseases, it wouldn't make any difference to me. -Chris Derose, founder and director of Last Chance for Animals

It easy to understand his love of rats. Anyone who would make such a statement is on the same level.

I wonder what these august persons would say to the lioness as she kills an antelope to feed her young?...

"Just say a word and the boys will be right there
With claws at your back to send a chill through the night air.

"Is it so frightening to have me at your shoulder?
Thunder and lightning couldn't be bolder.
I'll write on your tombstone, "I thank you for dinner."
This game that we animals play is a winner.

"Well, let's - well, that's all right by me. Yes!
I'm a tiger when I want love, but I'm a snake if we disagree.

"The rivers are full of crocodile nasties
And He who made kittens put snakes in the grass.
He's a lover of life but a Player of Pawns -

Yes, the King on His Sunset lies waiting for dawn
To light up His Jungle as play is resumed.
The monkeys seem willing to strike up the tune.

--Jethro Tull
