Without mentioning the place where he does his hack writing, do you have a nominee?

Well, we had a drivers-ed teacher in high school. One morning a student walked into the drivers-ed trailer, and this teacher was standing on a chair with a noose around his neck, wearing a dress and high-heel shoes...
That count for stupid/dangerous?

My nomination for the worst Law Professor is Anita Hill who was on the Falculty of the University of Oklahoma until Pres Boren finally got rid of her which I am sure was his goal since he inherited her as part of the falculty -- believe she is now part of the Law faculty of an East Coast school. Her complaint against Pres Boren was that he wouldn't talk to her when they both were at gatherings. BTW her endowed chair furnished by some women's groups was never matched by OU and cancelled on her departure.

Gee, this is like trying to come up with the most stupid Floridian.
I'm not sure if he qualifies as a teacher but, I would have to say Noam Chomsky.

I nominate me. I believe that math can only be learned through years of painful suffering.
Seriously, the answer is "bioethicist" Peter Singer, Princeton.

Chomsky (and Anita Hill) are pretty good, but they pale in comparison to the nutcase Singer, IMHO.

There were so many when I was in school. Let's see....there was James Leeber, 8th grade english at Park Jr High. He molested a male student twice and did not lose his job. Matter of fact he was even more popular with the kids. Then there was Neil Hawkins, Phys-Ed teacher at Park Jr High. He felt that it was important to lie on the stand about my sister in a court case. But I reckon the most incompetent, stupid, dangerous individual I have even seen in the field of education was Donnie Shupe. He was the principal of Crescent Elementary way back when I went there. He routinely broke the rules concerning discipline. He liked to beat me daily with his little paddle and when that one broke he got another one. He enjoyed the fact that he had me spend my school days in a closet in the office instead of in class. He told me I was stupid and would never be anything but a drain on society. (My IQ is only a proven 75 points higher than his). So for his abuse and lack of proceedure he got promoted. He is now head of the Board of Education in Raleigh County, WV. How I would love to run into him one day. I have about 160 paddlings to repay to him. Oh, and no small amount of verbal abuse too.

Robert Jensen, Prof. of (Yellow) Journalism, University of Texas (this is the guy who, the weekend following 9-11, outraged so many with his stupid editorial blaming the United States for the attacks).
He continues to teach his young skulls full of mush how they can save the world from American tyranny by doing everything they can to destroy the "evil" traditional institutions on which the nation was founded.
A truly scabrous character.

Yuck! I forgot all about that vermin.
Let's not forget about Al Bore's stint as a journalism professor.

Easy. The teacher who suspended a 12-year-old girl for pointing a tree leaf at another girl.

Do you have a link for that one?
Thanks, FReepers. This is becoming a really good thread.
I go with William Rivers Pitt, high school teacher in Boston. He has put in writing that Reagan killed the Marines in Beirut because he sold the explosives to the perpetrators through Ollie North. How amazing is that? He also put in writing that he has never voted for John Kerry because he is in Ted Kennedy's district. This idiot does political writing and is molding the minds of high schools. What an ignorant twirp.

Good stuff.
Hey, how about commie Angela Davis?

OK, believe it or not; my little sister's high school history teacher told her that the Berlin Airlift occurred after the East Germans placed a naval blockade on the City of Berlin (which I hope I don't have to tell you is well inland).

Oh, I believe you. When my daughter was in 4th grade, she was trying to convince several of her classmates that humans and dinosaurs never co-existed. Her teacher stopped the discussion by asking, "well, then how do you explain The Flintstones?" The sad part is that she was NOT joking.

Angela was on O'Reilly last week. For a second, I thought I was having a flashback.
New York Post article posted on FR last June:
". . .officials hired a 60-year-old mentally ill psychiatrist as a high-school biology teacher, even though he twice lost his medical license for a series of bizarre acts. They include making sexual advances to patients, exposing himself in front of a female doctor and shooting off a gun in his office. Despite his record, officials hired Franklin Simon - even though he had no teaching certification - to work at Murry Bergtraum HS in lower Manhattan."

Come on, we need the name. Some appropriate mocking is in order.
