An ominous new threat against the U.S. appears on a Web site and claims to be from an Al Qaeda spokesman.
It says the U.S. has killed thousands of people in Iraq, the Palestinian territories, Afghanistan, and other places.
And so, it reads: "We have the right to kill four million Americans, including one million children," and it says, "we have the right to fight them by chemical and biological weapons so they catch the fatal and unusual diseases Muslims have caught due to U.S. chemical and biological weapons."

Great. Put those same folks into the military, with access to more destructive implements for their nihilism.
The country HAS to address the moral decline of the gen Xers.
I find it stunning that the "moral decline" began with the Gen-Xers. The draft just did a whole LOT of good sorting out the Baby Boomers, didn't it?
The draft has taken many "aimless" men and straightened them out to be useful productive men.
That's not the military's mission.
You cannot draw the willingness to charge a machine-gun nest out of barrel, no matter how even-steven the process would be.
The draft is LONG over-due.
As long as you go first, oh mighty keyboard commando.
None of those aims can be accomplished without State Sponsorship. And the only State Brazen enough Currently to attempt it, is Iraq. That's why they are next.
If one can accept much of the evidence that Ramzi Yousef was an Iraqi agent, and that Mohammed Atta met with an Iraqi in Prague, and further that Possibly Terry nichols met with Yousef in the Phillipines, State sponsorship is the only thing making these assaults possible.
Consider if you will, that none of the attackers are islamic Fundamentalists in the true sense of the word, (they would not be cavorting with strippers, hookers, or consuming alcohol etc.....), and that the make up of the Bomb in the WTC bombing (Yousef), and Oklahoma City (Nichols) were startingly similar, and that in both Cases, patsies, (McVeigh OK., and 4 Others in WTC) were caught immediately following the Bombing....(showing a similar methodology in recruitment, and execution of then Plan....)
The Iraq campaign will happen even if it is based on the flimsiest of (public)pretexts.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the response from countries like China and Russia would be if you decided to nuke anywhere in the middle east? I mean, I kinda get jittery thinking of an escalation. I can see retaliation for a really bad attack on American soil, but a pre-emptive strike?
4 million dead would not cripple us, it would only infuriate us. These Islamists seem to have a death wish.
I disagree. I think this war is going to be the death of PC.
In a monsoon.
Schools, big cities, and bio-engineered Chicken Pox, perhaps. It's easy enough to get, extremely commonplace, and widely considered to be harmless.
But if we look at it, the terrorists would be utter fools to do this sort of thing. Not only would they lose any claim to humane treatment (the only thing holding us back now), but they would ensure that we'd get pissed off enough to spare no effort in hunting them down for real.
Beyond that, such an attack would be meaningless in a strategic sense. Even 4 million people is an insignificant percentage of the population; and I think they've probably grossly underestimated the capabilities of the public health system in stopping the spread of the disease, if such exists.
For this to be feasible you'd need a deepwater port with dense on-shore infrastructure. Most nuclear plants are near bodies of water but the depth is pretty shallow, so you perhaps couldn't float something like this up very close.
On the other hand, there may be other things out there of a much softer variety. One practical, real-world application of Homeland Security resources would be routine interdiction of port and river traffic near these areas. For example, the Bayway refinery in NJ, or some of those plants along the Houston ship channel...?
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the response from countries like China and Russia would be if you decided to nuke anywhere in the middle east?If it is any comfort to you, what they think would matter only slightly less than what Canadians think.
