In fact, the theory of intelligent design is hardly "pseudoscience" -- it is more commonly known as the theory of "irreducible complexity," which states that almost any functioning part of an organism is so complex that it could not possibly have evolved (in other words, it is so complex that it would not even function properly with even tiny changes in its makeup).

They were convinced that this ID approach would create lasting prosperity the likes of which anarchistic, evolutionary Capitalism could never hope to approach.

Comparing a flawed economic system like Communism to a theory of the development of organisms is a bit of a stretch. In fact, there is more than just a coincidence that Karl Marx and Charles Darwin were products of the same age.

Creation was founded on natural design...Adam Smith---'the invisible hand'.

Communism--facsism is from EVOLUTION---inevitable progess---TYRANNY!

Not an exact analogy. But there is a virulent anology to ID within communism and socialism. The failure of both to recognize that a complex system like the market and myriad cultural norms need not be designed leads them to look for villians, creators and beneficiaries of the established order.

That is the communist version of the watchmaker argument, and every radical leftist group -- feminists, environmentalists, etc. -- has a variant strain of it.

In my four years on the Freerepublic this is one of the worst lies I have seen. I wouldn't even call it 3rd way. Calling science-capitalism evolution and calling creation-freedom communism must be the epitome of the evolution disease--madness...unchallenged on a conservative site too!
