Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire by FReeper Jeff Head has been written up in the June 17, 2002 edition of Shotgun News.
The article is on Page 73 of the Magazine and is by the owner of Fred's M-14 Stocks. He entitles it, "Breath of Fire" a Scary Book.
Here is the body of the article.
I just read a white hot new book on the start of World War III, called "Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire" by Jeff Head. The first of five volumes, it is well worth the read because it shows how easy it would be in the world today for us to go - in a few months - from superpower to embattled ...under a threat even more massive than World War II.
Naturally, our Chinese friends are at the bottom of it, just like they will be in real life. (Before the outbreak of World War II with Japan, farsighted authors were portraying a war with Japan in prophetic fiction, one forecasting the Japanese advance on the Philipines - and the attack on Pearl Harbor! I sure hope Jeff doesn't have the same foresight, for, if he does, we are in for some rough sledding.) ...
The huge Chinese trade surplus today is financing a Chinese military build-up. The Japs were smart, tough enemies, and the Chinese are going to be tough, hard-to-beat enemies also. Truly, "those who do not remember history are condemmed to repeat it." ...

Get a copy. It'll scare you!
BUMP back.
Hope more and more folks get a chance to read the book and be exposed to the messages it contains about our Republic.
BUMP back.
Luckily I do not depend on the books at this point for major income. If it turns out to be that way some day ... that's great icing.
I like the analogy and certainly hope it works just that way ... will use those words in the book as well regarding certain conditions.
Tell you what ... whichever of us gets publishing deal first should have the publisher look at the work of the other. LOL!
Classy PR effort as well, Jeff.
Get a copy. It'll scare you! Good line. When the series goes big time the early works will be highly collectible. (^:
What if they were committed to driving the U.S. from the Middle East and Asia regardless of the cost?
What if they developed a few non-conventional technologies to assist them in that aim?
What if we were lulled into a continuing policy of almost total reliance on "market engagement" economically (which put the production capability and technology into the very hands of those who might be our adversaries) and a reduced size, pure high tech militarily while our enemies prepared to attack with overwhelming conventional numbers?
What happens when the high tech warshots run out (resulting in tremendous kill ratios to our benefit) but the enemy keeps coming anyay?
That is what The Dragon's Fury Series is all about.
Classy PR effort as well, Jeff.
Get a copy. It'll scare you! Good line
Wish I could claim it, but the guy in Shotgun News came up with it on his own.
I believe it could be an effective line though for sure.
Hope you get a chance to get a book and read one. If you do, please let me know what you think ... I believe you would really enjoy it.
I now know of sales outside the U.S. in Canada, The UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand as a result of emails from folks. There are probably more, I just don't know about them yet.
I am about to go "off line" for most of the day.
Thanks for the BUMP and have a great day.
Shameless commerce bump.
