"Where's Abe Lincoln in this mix?"Wondering how the play ended?
To: Texasforever
The only way Bush will be in that position is if we have 60 "conservative" senators in order to kill a filibuster (sp?). Anything less and all we have is control of committees (granted, that's alot better than we got now).

Something is going on here with the Nazi talk -- concerned about politics told me Heil Hitler the other day when he didn't like what I had to say! What gives?

Someone who was previously banned and comes back again (and again and again and again).

Ha! Well, I don't know about that, but I do agree with your statements above. The only chance we have of turning this thing around is to regain control of the Senate. Keep voting out the Democrats, regain contriol, and then we can worry about the RINOs.

Ah, I figured so much. Thanks for the clarification.

Here and
Here Then if you don't get what you need begin the process of getting rid of him or whatever else suits your fancy.

It ended with a bang.

Keep voting out the Democrats, regain contriol, and then we can worry about the RINOs. Exactly right...that's the best strategy.
To: Jim Robinson
Can I quote you on that, Jim?
To: JulieRNR21
We should all concentrate on getting control of both the House & Senate Right-on! This election in November is one of the most important ones we have had in a long time -- there will be NO conservative justices until we TAKE BACK THE SENATE! That's a given!
To: JulieRNR21
Many of us have been saying for a while now that winning back the Senate is KEY to getting the correct agenda for America on track.

Credit rintense. We might as well mock ourselves!

Just curious - why is a person automatically called a "Bush basher" for simply not questioning him? People get so emotional over fellow consevatives on this issue - criticizing. It's really disturbing. I finally had to leave delete another message board from my bookmarks over this. I finally registered here because there is some sanity. It seems you can actually be a conservative and not be a "Bushbot". Anyway, I like the original post and the debate so far.

Actually, I have heard Joe Biden say that him and Warren Rudman celebrated the fact Bush is nominating a pro-abortion justice right after Brennan retired. A little known fact is that Reagan also considered nominating Souter, but didn't because he didn't feel he was conservative enough. What a foresight!! Also, Souter was in the 1st circuit US Court of Appeals for only three months before he was nominated. Bush knew that if people found out that he wasn't a conservative, he would have an aweful time trying to nominate him to the Supreme Court. That is why he hurried. Plus, the fact that Bush Sr was in love with Rudman helped matters for Souter anyways. The fact that Souter was a right hand man of Warren Rudman says a lot about how he thinks about things. Every Republican knew it but went along anyways because they feared that otherwise Bush would have to take a lot of flack from Congress if he sent another Thomas.
But, it is a mute point, because Bush Jr will not be sending conservative justices to the Senate. They will be handpicked to court the Hispanic vote. The solid conservative justices in this country are the likes of Luttig, Posner, Easterbrook, et. al. I can bet with you right now, they won't be nominated, nor anyone who closely resembles them. Bush will handpick judges who gives him the most leverage. At the end of the day, Bush does not care if Republicans can win the Senate. Bush wants to accomplish what his dad couldn't - win a second term. That is his goal from day 1. Honestly, so far he has appeased so many groups on the left, that I think Dems would do what they did to Warner in VA - not run an opponent, because there is no point. Their agenda is getting promoted anyways. They might just keep their good candidates until 2008.

You don't have a name that can be easily converted ... "AdolfFufkin" LOL!
I was named that because I contended that two police officers didn't deserve to be ambush shotgunned to death, even if they did use the landlady/perp mother's key to open the killer's screen door and commit a 4th Amendment violation.
The 4th Amendment violation took precidence over the dual LEO murders in some people's mind. Doesn't take much to be a Nazi these days ... now I know how John Banner and Werner Klemperer got their gigs.

I joined freerepublic because I thought I would be with like minded people...I don't expect us to always agree but this bashing of our President lately has gotten out of hand. I didn't realize that we had so many control freaks and the sad part is...some of them are makeing charges that are untrue and some are using plain old heresay as fact. A house divided against itself cannot stand. I would think that everyone would be concentrating on the matters at hand like the war on terror. There is absolutely no excuse for their disruptive behavior...maybe they need attention???

Yep. Dubya does it, and now the only material the late night comedians have is to mock Democrats!
