>>>I stated Buchanan put his country before party and you stated that was due to him going after personal ambitions?

No. I said, quote: Or another way of saying it, would be, Buchanan bailed out of the party to put his personal ambitions first.

This is pretty simple stuff Joe.

Pat was going nowhere inside the Republican Party. He saw the opening at the Reform Party and jumped on that bandwagon. Pat knew he had no chance of winning anything, but just couldn't give up. He was doing all this party hopping, for his own benefit, not the nations benefit.

I think Rush is doing a good job of holding President Bush accountable. The criticisms of Rush I've read on this thread are laughable.

By their reactions, some folks on this thread are acting like a mirror image of the Clinton kool-aid drinkers of old. It's really sad to see.

I'm glad Al Gore isn't president, and Bush has done some good things in office. But some things he's done--like signing Shays-Meehan, the Patriot Act and naming the Justice Department building after the criminal Robert F. Kennedy--are disgusting.

Saying so doesn't make one unpatriotic or a "Bush-basher." If conservatives won't maintain a modicum of standards, then why bother ? Let's all hail the King and go shopping--and leave the governing to him.

>>>By the way, in case you haven't noticed, the "home page" of Free Republic talks about Conservatives, not Republicans. In many cases, there's a big difference.<<<

DING! Give that man a cigar.

If Post #239 is a personal attack, should we then assume a team of attorneys is at your disposal to launch a 'verbal assault' charge first thing in the morning? Or have the hounds been released?

The Euro-weenies appear almost stable in comparison.

And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.

The front door is locked but the back door is WIDE open...

According to some in the asylum here at FR, dissenters are supposed to shut up, be good little lemmings, and pretend a major border security debacle isn't occurring on a daily basis.

And even if it is, it's because the Commander-In-Chief has some "master plan" designed somehow to foil the Democrats in time for the next election.

You couldn't be wronger, and Rush stands firm for his political and ideological philosophy while Bush does everything but. If Rush carried Bush's backstabbing water, his worth and credibility would be finished.

Oh yeah using a NYT report as a credible source and Rush quivering in fear over a Thomas Oliphant article.

That is hilarious and watching you lap it up is even more hilarious.

Rush is loving every minute of this...probably at home on his PC right now drooling as the posts appear.

He is probably a freeper himself...who might it be?

And we all know he uses FR for ideas -- how do we know he doesn't use it to "test run" topics?

Why waste this much time arguing about him? He's not Jesus Christ. He helped Bush out "big-time" in September, 2000, bringing his poll numbers back up with the Gore-mother-in-law-dog-medicine story.

Maybe he doesn't think he's getting proper gratitude, so he's trying to prove a point. He is definitely doing that with this thread.

Aw poor wittle Rush doesn't think he is getting enough gratitude.

Anyway using a hyped and distorted NYT article to prove his point was blatant and cynical to the max.

Rush is the one who burned the bridge and all because of his poor wittle ego.

Rush Limbaugh was helpful for the GOP in past elections, especially 1994 which was 2 years after electing a new President.

Rush will work to take back the Senate and solidify the House GOP lead. He continues to attack the RATs like few others can.

It is cutting your nose to spite your face to trash Rush, if your goal is to maximize GOP turnout in 2002.

Will you put aside your anger at Rush and join him in the effort to vote the Democrats out?

Do you all think Bush wants you to attack Rush?

LOL I just KNEW that his comment would get people going! Of course you DO know that he did this just to get wank your chain?
To all those who are/were offended by this remark I'd like to thank you so much for perpetuating the myth.
I'd also suggest that you get a life, or at least try renting one.
