For every terrorist act in Israel, tanks and bulldozers should push a mile to the sea in Gaza, and a mile towards the Jordan river in Judea and Samaria.

Don't understand, but we are told that USA and the Saudis and the Europeans and any other important "powers" control what Israel can do and cannot do. As much as USA seems to support Israel, it is also our nation the one that does most of the restraining, due to our global interests. But, Israel is not always going to have to "take it".

Thirty years ago, a good friend and her family moved to Israel. We soon lost track of one another. Every death, every injury, I wonder if my friend and her family are OK. Every death, every injury, I wonder what it will take for the world community to tire of the carnage and loose Israel's hands.

This would have to be the greenest light there ever were. Made in public even…Even if Tenent said this after this recent attack, even if this attack wasn't a "suicide bomb", it's still a green light. What could he possibly say? "Mr. Sharon, the last attack that murdered 16 people didn't count. We need more people to die first?"

Only if we stick to it. I can’t imagine what Tenet could say, and I hope this is a green light, but I’m skeptical.

If they want a Palestinian state, give them Gaza. Israel should run them off the West Bank for good.
The "refugees" are just that.. "refugees". By definition they don't have a home. They need to find one. And it obviously shouldn't be anywhere near Jews.

I’d even give them a slice of the eastern West Bank. But Israel needs to do it now, unilaterally. And that’s where the security fence has to be, along a permanent, defensible border.

I hate to imagine the living conditions in an independent Palestinian State. Interesting to see what they can make of it.

I read this morning that he said it yesterday, which was definitely before this bombing. Also, one of the articles in the link says that the bombing came just after Tenet finished talks with both parties and left the country.

Now let's all see what Ari has to say today.

Don't forget the Muslims are fighting for control of the govt in Sudan, the Muslims are fighting the Christians in Indonesia, the Muslims are fighting the Hindus over Kashmir...

Yesterday Ari said

In the immediate term, one of the goals, of course, is the diminution of violence, the creation of an environment in which both parties feel more comfortable talking to each other, because Yasser Arafat is no longer under siege in his headquarters in Ramallah, the Israeli people don't feel under siege because it's impossible to go out on the street without being worried about a suicide bomber taking their lives or the lives of their children. So the diminution of the violence is, first and foremost, a major concern....

He's right about Arafat being out and about, wrong about Israeli's not being under siege. I didn't hear todays remarks. Clearly Tenet has caused some embarassment, though I don't think it will get much coverage.

no matter how it may have saved the Nation of Israel from retaliation by neighboring Arab countries.

So this is your idea of success, RBA? In that case, my congratulations on your success in this episode! When your assistants who direct this kind of activity start doing it in your own city, perhaps you and your family will experience a similar 'success'.

Israel has enough right now, and they don't need to lose more because they take the bait from some group like the Palis and get goaded into war with neighboring nations. They are above that. It appears many on this thread do not agree with me, however. Makes me wonder what people on here really think of Israel.

Defensive war is one of the noblest activies of which the human race is capable. Israel is definitely not below this divine task.

Well, we took a country under complete control in a matter of week(s), the Russians couldnt take it in years.

Anything that moves wrong and we'll blow it away. Afganastan is a testement to the power of the worlds lone super power.

Does that clear it up?

In Wednesday's attack, his scorched bus was tossed onto a highway embankment just outside the barbed wire fence of the prison. Inmates, many of them Palestinian security prisoners, cheered when they heard the explosion, police said. Guards in nearby watchtowers saw the bus tumble and crash.

Shoot them all!
My aunt was in the bus which came 5 minutes later.

Your position is beautiful in its simplicity. Rather than accuse Arafat and the PLO of complicancy where the burden of proof rests with the Israelis, Israel needs to frame the imperative exactly as your way.
