Now why would Bush do that? If the EPA is a bureaucracy and contradicting his beliefs, then why doesn't he eliminate those that contradicts his true beliefs like Christie Todd Whitman? Why doesn't he demand the EPA hire some experts that are opposed to global warming to give the agency some balance?

He made this statement because Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and the base were outraged. Bush can only compromise as far as the base lets him and enough didn't let him on this issue.

Just think if the base always held Bush's feet to the fire and demanded that he not compromise on all the issues he has betrayed conservatives on.

Pure T baloney.

That hasn't been possible since Andrew Jackson. Civil service exams, career bureaucrats. Read my #22. He's got no choice.

BUSH IN '04!!!

That having been said, I wish Bush would explain all his other betrayals of conservatism like he did this one. To my untrained eye, it would appear Bush made a statement quite a while after the fecal matter hit the air circulator, and not a moment too soon.

I hope I am wrong that his distancing himself from the report may have been only because he was held to account (by Rush, Sean hannity, et al) and because he had no other choice.(i.e., he saw his poll numbers tanking)

By the way, I have been wrongly accused of being a Bush-hater, a Buchanobot, a Libertarian, and a liberal before.

This report was written by the EPA under the CLINTON administration by suedo scientists. It is a flawed study. It was posted on the EPA website and the report is due to be released NOW. It was the always truthful NYT that released this with altogether misleading statements. Drudge, always trying to top his Monica Scoop, jumped on it. Rush picked up the NYT trash and Drudge and ran with it. I am amazed at Rush and it tells me he has an agenda not friedly to our President, without doing any research whatsoever.

You must be pleased as you and Rush are obvously of a mind set and no matter what this President did you would find vocal and vitriolic fault. You are not less rediculous today than you were yesterday.
