I'm a liberal?!?

Enough with the name-calling and personal attacks. Try addressing my point: Environmental regulation kills people.

The only thing that's consistent with yuse guys is your support of GWB. Yesterday y'all stood by Bush and the mischaracterized report. Today y'all stand by Bush and are against the Report. Go figure.

Look harder, its there. Take your time and read each post this time, slowly and carefully. Start at post number one on each of the three threads, then report back.

No that is your choice as exhibited by the 50% or so of the registered voters that don't participate.

You may be right. My poor memory and public school education put the idea in my brain that the "spoils system" suffered severe damage after Andrew Jackson, but I am sure that the civil service exam system did come later.

As I said yesterday, Rush is a talk show host and without a juicy story he is out of a job. It was shameless for him to use the NYT's for anything. Not to mention a hit peice on the POTUS. If he want's to talk about principles, maybe he should start by looking in the mirror. As far as Drudge, he is a opportunistic whore, just like Larry Klayman

And so for your soul, you'll sit out, and put this country into the hands of the Democrats, who oppose virtually EVERYTHING you stand for.

You're asking me to turn my back on God and his teachings, sell out my eternal soul, so your guy can win an election ? Well, I'm sorry. Your man isn't worth it. No man is.

Stated with those absolutes borders on meaningless.

Thank you. I guess many must feel the same way.

Tell me, do you believe in global warming?

"Global Warming" has become a buzzword for a whole set of beliefs and policies, most of which I dismiss as yer basic grab for power by left-leaning do-gooders who want to tell the rest of us what to do and how to live... for our own good, of course. I figure the junk science and the stuff about Saving The Planet are just a handy means to the end, which is really just to be able to tell everybody else what to do... for their own good. This is what leftists do. They want to save us, whether from environmental catastrophe, hamburgers, or big business. Just so long as they can tell us what to do.

Near as I can tell, it is a scientific fact that certain gases like CO2 help trap heat in the atmosphere; I don't think we get to argue about that. Neither is there much dispute that burning thing up, like we do with fuels, releases CO2 into the atmosphere. This for me is where things start to get murky.

As I understand it, our competitors in this endeavor are the plants. Most people do not consider plants our enemies, but they are. Plants are always taking CO2 out of the atmosphere, and doing what they call "fixing" it in organic materials (like more plants). If you think about this for very long, you realize that what the plants are trying to do is freeze us out. They are trying to remove the greenhouse gases from the atmosphere in a selfish effort to make more of themselves, oblivious to the fact that this is letting the Earth's heat escape into space, and will eventually turn our beautiful planet into a big frozen rock. And you thought plants were our friends.

It seems to me that our role in the ecosystem is to cut down the plants and burn them, literally and figuratively. The lower animals have proven to be total failures at this, so it is up to us humans to protect the Earth from the atmosphere-marauding plants. By burning these damned plants, we release the CO2 that these evil creatures have "fixed" in their so-called organic material, and we put it back into the atmosphere where it can help trap the Sun's heat and keep the Earth from turning into a whirling ball of ice.

Now this Global Warming debate, it seems to me, is about whether we or the plants are ahead in this struggle. These leftists want us to believe that we humans are burning stuff up so fast that the plants can't keep up. I know they're telling me that just so they can make up lots of rules for me to follow, but the possibility exists that they are right. If they are, it probably means we need more plants. But before I introduce kudzu into my back yard, or mint, I would like to know for sure that these higher temperatures we're seeing aren't just flukes. Here is where things start to get even murkier. Besides the fact that there have been ice ages, and that there were once farms in a good part of Iceland, not much is known about how temperatures on the Earth wobble around just for the Hell of it... certainly not down to the level of tenths of a degree Celsius, which is what we're playing with here. So I'm not inclined to let a bunch of leftists make up a bunch of rules for me to follow just because they say that catastrophe awaits if I don't. They'd say that anyway, and I know it, so to Hell with them.

If Rush hadn't made this an issue, no one would have ever heard about it; it would have gone into file 13 at the U.N. and Bush would have continued on as he always has on the global warming issue.

Even with the Rush tirade, no one but us news junkies has heard of the report as it is now.

The suggestion that this White House is influenced by what goes on on the Rush Limbaugh program is belly-laugh time.

Start at post number one on each of the three threads, then report back.

I will rely on the proof given so far by you (which is none) that no one here changed their posistions about global warming on account of the report and further that only a hand full of freepers believe global warming is in process and of those none believe man is the primary cause.

I have followed most global warminmg threads and I have seen a few who believe that its warming and I read the threads yesterday and today and I see no difference in the distribution of folks who believe in warming. But that fact would detract from your false premise.

I'm talking about my country, here. Not a man. It just so happens that I believe one man is doing pretty good for the country. For you to hide behind principle and your soul. I'm talking about throwing away a chance to change some of the things that I'm pretty sure we'd agree god doesn't like (abortion on demand, for starters).

Think about that. A chance to overturn Roe v. Wade - help stop the murder that abortion on demand is. And you'll throw it away by sitting out. And YOU have the gall to lecture me about selling MY soul?
