Bush's UCI 'warming' advisers upset with 'adapting' approach

Two UCI scientists who helped convince the White House that global warming is real and largely manmade expressed surprise Monday that the Bush administration is calling for people to adapt to the potentially severe consequences to Earth rather than deal with the causes of the problem.

It's the money, they are building the need for better climate models.

Kyoto was about transfers of money from those who produce to those who don't.

Ok, let's save the money and stick with the bad models. A penny saved is a penny earned.

Looks like they're already complaining. Bush will simply present the question of "adapt with new technology, or do it their way and destroy the economy," and the Dems will be TOAST.

The drum beat now begins, "Bush knows about dangers of global warming but chooses to do nothing".

But guys W is only following the dictates of the report which recommends adapting.

Heh Heh.

The SKY is FALLING, the sky is falling.....
Oh, wait, according to history, it's fallen before...and yet....we're all still here to listen to another round of this bunk science rhetoric....imagine that.

But when you look at maps of rising sea levels, a lot of Florida disappears.

Maybe I missed it...
but is there a map showing locations where the sea level has already been rising
and submerging coastal areas?

All I can remember is hearing about the one island in the South Pacific that got lots
of press about it being lost to rising sea levels.
But then later I heard reports that this simply was bogus...and a rouse (sp?) to get
the islanders "sanctuary" (=citizenship + welfare dole) in a real country (New Zealand?).

I'm a global warming skeptic, but if the map of newly submerged coastal areas
is available, I'd like to see it.

Right! I have not seen the proof that the sea level is rising either, and they continue to ignore the cooling of Antartica.

See this:

Uncertainties

During the Cold War, I really like the old emblem of the Strategic Air Command,
with the armored fist and the motto "Peace is our profession".

I get the feeling that the EPA's motto should be "Extracting money based on the unknown".

Karl Rove needs to be fired. This was a really destructive move. I can see nothing positive in it for Bush in the long run.

Just point out to the global warming enthusiasts that a complete ancient whale skeleton was recently found in the middle of what is now the suburbia of Orange County, California -- humans weren't around back then to cause that rise in sea level! Despite the hysteria from Drudge (and, sad to say, Rush) about this, GWB will probably win on this one too, to the anger and continued frustration of the Dems.

i don't like the move either!

I don't like it that the Register is selling out to the money grubbing researchers at UCI either!

I'll see if I can pull up some articles about the Climate Modeling efforts there!
