The Government first came up with cellphone technology. The Government found that high frequency waves produce altered states of consciousness. Couple the high frequencies with a carrier wave that has embedded 'information' and you have a mind control device.

It's a Government Plot.™

They really are out to get us.

My God! So, all those folks who used cell phones and air-to-ground phones on September 11 to report their locations, pass on information or say good-bye to loved ones could have experience headaches, vision problems or one of several vague and generalized symptoms? The horror!!

Oh boy, you got me! In case it went over your head (and somehow, gee, I think it did), the crux of this thread boils down to this question: Does frequent and long-term use of a cell phone pose a cancer-risk and/or health risk?

It does not boil down to: "If someone uses a modern communication device (i.e., a cell phone), in an emergency, for a matter of mere seconds or minutes, does it pose a health risk?"

Does that clear it up for you?

The same arguments were made about electricity.

And to this day some idiots turn off their breakers at night and when appliances are not in use to reduce their EMF exposure.

Oh! Oh! I've been waiting for a long time to use this...

So. Now that you've used it, how'd it feel?

Ooh, I missed that! So, RC really would like to ban what he sees as "phallic symbols" (I'll bet he found out that some can be set to "vibrate", LOL!), but he just thinks that trying to do so would be a waste of time.

Did that once to a ladyfriend at the bar. I told her to put her pager in 'a certain place" and then I used my cellphone to page her.

I guess this falls into the category of a "stupid bar trick."

"...You are a hoot..."

Said the pot as it called the kettle black, LOL!

I'll bet that you go ape-sh*t ballistic when you encounter people who suggest that you shouldn't drive and use your cell phone at the same time, don't you?

So what you are saying handk, is that as long as you only use your cell phone for an emergency, or when you feel there is an emergency, it is ok.....but if anyone else decides to use theirs for whatever reason they choose, then they are stupid............. Hum, I thought you were a "proud" non user? And do you tell smokers this same advice? How about drinkers? Drug users? Folks contemplating abortions? Do you stand on the corner and babysit all passing by telling them what is "unhealthy" for them?

You're not just a hoot, but a clueless hoot -- jumping from one wrong assumption to another. I don't own a cell phone. Whether or not I own a cell phone is irrelevant. I seek honest justice and accurate identification of reality. You can argue all you want for your pet belief that cell phones are a "loony fad" and you'll continue to be wrong for it is not loony. And try convincing the people whose lives were saved because cell phones were used to quickly access emergency medical attention -- try convincing those fortunate people that cell phones are just a fad. Care to explain how a fad can be loony? From my last post, #91 ...

loony:
Noun: Someone deranged and possibly dangerous

Adjective: Informal or slang terms for mentally irregular

loony:
Main Entry: loo·ny
Variant(s): also loo·ney /'lü-nE/
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): loo·ni·er; -est
Etymology: by shortening & alteration from lunatic
Date: 1872
: CRAZY, FOOLISH
- loo·ni·ness noun
- loony noun

Go play in traffic Zon.

Ouch! -- NOT! Care and kindness to you too.

P.S. You can start without me. But I do suggest that you be especially careful since it is really dangerous playing in traffic.

LOL!

Agreed then, no playing in traffic for either of us.

With respect to cell phones, OTOH, no agreement between us appears likely.

So, whether you treasure agreement or disagreement, the numbers are the same: 1 for 2.
