President Bush and First Lady Laura headed to the United States Military Academy at West Point to give the Commencement Speech. In this bicentennial graduation, Bush told West Point graduates that they must protect and preserve American freedom at a time when terrorism puts it in jeopardy. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

And, yes, SuziQ, Psalm 10 = makes me think of Bill Clinton AND of Osama Ben Laden - and of Mugabe - and of Castro - in that they think they (OBL may not now) have gotten away with their oppression of the poor and humble and with the murder of innocents - thinking God is not paying attention and will not require an account from them. While it seems sometimes that God is not listening to the cries of the oppressed, of the victims of the wicked - He does hear these cries and intends to bring justice to the wicked on behalf of the oppressed. It's good to remember this......when we see the wickedness by "rulers" and terrorists seemingly going unpunished (though the latter are, finally, at least on alert that they now the hunted and some of them are dead!)
Psalm 10 is called "A Song of Confidence in God's Triumph Over Evil"
We surely need that Word of God in these days!
I listened to the President's speech on C-Span radio. They must have used a microphone that only picked up the applause from the people on the stage. There must be another way to pick up applause at a speech. It was as if the only applause you heard from an NFL game was from those in the press box.

Well, it's like this. The cadets don't get their hats back. Since they are graduating they don't need them anymore. Very young children are allowed to come onto the graduation field just before the cadets toss the hats. The tradition is that if the child catches a hat then they will end up coming to West Point. That does actually happen.
I vote for telling them their opinions are of no consequence as they are in a small minority of people who don't support the President -- tell them they are statistically insignificant. You can't debate libs with links and logic because they will counter with a neverending supply of links and they think with their emotions rather than common sense.
Pretty heavy duty stuff in this Psalm. In his sermon today our pastor said that good Christians listen to Christ then act accordingly, and passivity isn't acceptable. Not a revolutionary thought, but then he took it a step further and said Christ would tell us all human life is precious and worthy of redemption. Still nothing new there until he took it to the next step and said Jesus expects us to love the terrorists because like us, they are created in God's image, and asked how many of us are willing to do that. If we follow Christ, we should listen and act on Christ's words concerning our enemies. You could hear a pin drop and this gave me much to think about today. It was the old "love the sinner, hate the sin" type sermon. I am not ready to go there, and not ready to forgive. I am going to have to work on this a lot and I don't want to. Big sigh!
