[history]
The U.S. government has alerted airlines and law enforcement agencies that new intelligence indicates that Islamic terrorists have smuggled shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles into the United States.
Classified intelligence reports circulated among top Bush administration policymakers during the past two weeks identified the missiles as Russian-made SA-7 surface-to-air missiles or U.S.-made Stinger anti-aircraft missiles obtained covertly in Afghanistan, said intelligence officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The U.S. government has alerted airlines and law enforcement agencies that new intelligence indicates that Islamic terrorists have smuggled shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles into the United States. In this paragraph it clearly states that the missiles are inside the United States.
The officials said the warning is based on intelligence and not a specific threat that the missiles are in the United States.
And in this paragraph, the missiles may not be in the United States.
So were are the missiles?

"That does not mean it was not fired; it simply means we do not know if that particular weapon was fired at that location or simply dropped off there," he said.
Hey, Abdullah. Help me find my keys, would you? And where did I leave that shoulder-mounted anti-aircraft missle launcher?

So were are the missiles? They must have slipped past you.

I doubt I'd miss an alien carrying a shoulder fire missile through the airport.
But, thanks for your confidence in my ability to spot one.
To: Marine Inspector
Maybe they smuggled them in and then smuggled them back out.

Perhaps they've stashed them in a shower stall.

A coordinated attack on Air Force refueling aircraft (on the ground or aloft) could put a crimp in the global operations of the United States military.

Missiles taking out planes is nothing. When they nuke us, that'll be news. When we're utterly ruined by the islamics.. That'll be news. A few planes or buildings will seem like 'good old days' eventually.

We don't have information that al Qaeda is planning to use these They just smuggled them in for Show and Tell, or perhaps a lovely garden decoration.

In one months time the Mexican trucks will invade our border and roll all over this country. At such a low inspection rate, how many semis carrying missiles do you think can enter this country on any given day? DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BORDERS GEORGE.

CYA; so they can say we warned you. Might account for the unusual landing flight path patterns that seem to have cropped up again around the airport.
To: kattracks
The Saudis could not determine whether the launcher had fired a missile, and they destroyed it before U.S. military or intelligence officials could examine it.With "friends" like these, who needs friends?

That was my feeling.

And while you're at it, think about all those trucks and trains carrying nuclear reactor waste thru cities all across this country on its way to Yucca Mtn. Denver, Omaha, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, etc. etc. etc. Las Vegas has video of a spent fuel tank being punctured by a hand held, despite the gov propaganda saying it is soooooooooo safe.

This sounds more like a NY Slimes or DC Compost or an AFP story than one written by Bill Gertz for the Washington Times. In less than six paragraphs we have been told the missiles are here in the states and then not here in the states.
Your observations makes this story look a little shaky!

The U.S. government has alerted airlines and law enforcement agencies that new intelligence indicates that Islamic terrorists have smuggled shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles into the United States. I am not surprised by this either. Given the state of our immigration and the open border "free for all" God only knows what or who is in this country with deadly intentions.
