That is a polite term for this. Bush needs to shut the INS down NOW.

I heard about this several times in the past day or so, and it just makes me so angry! The INS almost appears to one of those that Bush said "you are either with us, or you are with the terrorists". I think we can wonder whose side they are on sometimes.

What you think?
To: ladyinred
Yes I did too I heard it broke this morning but searched on here and couldn't find a title match and no discussion really on it. Pissed me off to no end.

"...contrary to belief, we are not in the business of detaining people without cause. These men posed no terrorist threat or, for that matter, any threat to the community." Ho hum. I guess INS doesn't "do" illegal aliens anymore.
To: ladyinred
If the cops couldn't reach INS why didn't they try the FBI or state police. Did they really have to turn them loose so soon?

Yeah I thought that was exactly WHAT their job was. I mean they had fake i.d.'s even admitted to being illegal! Let go!UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To: dalebert
I guess because they were not carrying their "Al Qaeda I.D. card" they were let go.

Yeah, or at the least give dangerous idiots like INS supervisor Frank Ciringione da boot!!! I'd like to know where I can contact this moronic, lazy public servant. I'd give him a piece of my mind.
As for those creepy illegals from Pakistan with their phoney IDs, I'll bet that the Brooklyn roofing company that they supposedly work for is just as phoney...

I heard talk radio host Bob Grant bring up an interesting, butscary, point on today's program. He believes the INS has been infiltrated with America-hating Muslims, hispanic terrorists like La Raza, (maybe from the Mexican government, too) Russians, communists and other groups all to happy to see the destruction of America.
Since we will do NOTHING to stop it, what conclusion can one make from all of this?

My questions.
Are illegal aliens covered in our Constitution? I don't see where they are but the legal system seems to place them in equal status with us.
The INS is a joke. I've read too many stories of the corrupt and incompetent getting promotions.
I long for the enactment of Article I, Section 8. Protect our boarders and screw paying for Bill Gate's drug prescriptions.

Bob may have a point. It seems to me that there are more foreigners working for the customs service than you'd expect, ditto the INS. Where are the Americans competing for these jobs? Instead of "Troops to Teachers", Bush would do well to encourage a "Troops to the INS" program moving retiring service members into the INS. Perhaps what they are lacking is basic discipline.

Not a reason in the world the home-town cops couldn't have held them over the weekend. If worst came to worse, they could have held them for a 72-hour psychiatric exam.
INS=bad. NYPD=almost just as bad for turning these scumbags loose. Illegal entry is against the law. Illegal papers, ditto.

Same story, different article
Thanks for posting this one though, always good to have a second source and follow up.

Hope the NYPD, whose idea of English gives anybody North of White Plains a headache, at least finger-printed photographed them, and searched the van, and the perps.
OBTW, could have held them for mandatory health checks, too. Come on local yokels, can't blame everything on the Feds. Use your powers. And your brains.
And don't use the old "Mo room at the jail" excuse, a tent and chain link fencing will do just fine.
