COPENHAGEN, Denmark (CNN) -- Denmark's government says its controversial crackdown on immigrants will merely bring it into line with other EU nations and dismissed charges it was selling out to the far-right.

The Danish parliament, the Folketing, staged heated debate on the package of tough immigration laws on Thursday and is set to vote them through on Friday, with the centre-right government relying on votes of the right-wing anti-immigrant Danish People's Party (DPP).

These countries are tiny, and if they let in even 500,000 hostile troublemaking moose-limbs, then, bingo, no more Denmark.

Any nation stupid enough to (a) accept unlimited numbers of un-schooled third-world immigrants without any threat of deportation and (b) GRANT WELFARE BENEFITS TO THE AFOREMENTIONED, is being governed by absolute idiots, and deserves whatever it gets as a result of its loose immigration policy.

I would include most of Europe, Canada, and Mexico in the above statement. If Americans don't stop this attitude from taking root in our government, then we will be just as screwed as all of Europe is.

Immigration is not a bad thing. Allowing illegal immigrants to stay, with no regard for the rule of law, and even REWARDING them for arriving illegally IS a bad thing.

The day the New York Times, or any of the other criminally negligent leftist Media institutions pick up on this story will be the day I die. Until such day, I will continue to expect those morons to fall for the "immigration reform is the policy of EEEEEVIL right-wingers" line. Is there any independent thought amongst the media "elite"? Ha.

I just added Denmark to the list of countries that I might try to retire to when I am able to retire. Smart leadership there.

The Danes are probably the most hospitable people in Europe. They are polite and considerate. But some of the third world types that they have taken in are anything but.

I was in Copenhagen a couple of years ago, when something triggered a demonstration of non-Danish residents, protesting their treatment. The very homogeneous Danes stood on the sidewalks looking stunned and bewildered at the rude thanks they were receiving for their previous kindness. They now are starting to wake up politically. Let us hope the trend continues.

The only reason that it has taken so long for Europe, in general, to wake up to what is happening to the European homelands, is because of the analysis stultifying propaganda of the Left, for the past two generations. The most constructive thing that Conservatives can do in any country, is insist that these issues be discussed, frankly and fairly and fully, without rancour, but without apology for anyone's heritage, or for one's preference for the association of those with whom one feels compatible. There needs to be an end to fear of being called a nasty name by some hair-brain bent upon taking away your way of life.

We are the immigration suckers of the world.

Even the most-socialist states of the commie EU are saying NO to open immigration from the Third World. They are no longer willing to be the welfare office of the Third World - and to have their fabled welfare programs drained dry by Third Worlders whose homelands have no welfare programs.

The liberal attitude towards asylum seekers in the EU was fostered largely by guilt over complicity with the Nazis during WW2.

It is no coincidence therefore, that Denmark is rightly taking a stand and restricting the flood of human polution to its borders-- of all the countries invaded by Germany during WW2, only Denmark made a concerted effort to protect and sheild its Jews, and needs no apologies.

On Greenland they will be fed an adequate UN refugee style diet and live in warm but spartan barracks housing. They will remain there as a humanitarian gesture by Denmark but there they must stay.

One addition: While housed in Greenland they will be given madatory, long-term contraceptive treatment or sterilization.

Yes, you have it. Liberal guilt, rubbing off on bewildered citizens, who only wish to continue their lives- the "noiseless tenor of their way ". In 1939 the Nazi's allowed 900 Jews to embark on an ocean liner. It is said that their purpose was to test the willingness of other countries, to accept these tragic souls.

Canada has been lambasted, because it was alleged at Canadian big wig, said " none is too many"- when they asked for asylum here. They were turned away by other countries. Not recorded, in the many times the documentary was shown, damning the hypocracy of various countries, is one stated fact. Great Britain took off 70 passengers and gave them asylum.

It is said most were returned and eventually went to oblivion. The obvious and sensible approach ,is one that is pragmatic. Apply the situation , without regard to what happened, before most people in Europe and America were born. Your first sentence gave me my opening. Cheers

While I agree with you wholeheartedly on your main point, I would note that Serbia (more specifically, the Serb part of Yugoslavia) should be included with Denmark among nations that stepped up to the plate to protect Jews.

Hey, fellow Buckeye,

Some misguided Swedish Government Clymer Cluster decided that immigrants from the Strange Lands were just the ticket to re-populate desolate rural areas.

Ha! What they got was bunch of wannabe Down-Town-Charlie-Browns who have sent Stockholm crime soaring and who are too tough for the local cops to handle. Worst offenders ... (surprise surprise)Albanians, Kurds, and other assorted Muslims.

Want something a little closer to home? Columbus now home to many thousands of Somalis, Eritreans, Sudanese and other more primitive Muslims now ... but it's OK, because they work at the .... Airport!

Great fun being searched by a Muslim with tribal scars, who's just come from a fire-breathing anti-American Sermon at his local Columbus mosque. Costing hospital ER's big money to patch up their crude female circumcisions, costing schools big money to deal with their recalcitrant kids ... but hey it's OK. The thousands upon thousands of illegal Mexicans asrriving daily will keep them in check.

The reason is that the left parties are losing ground and are willing to retain power by using scorched earth tactics.

In Denmark for example, The ruling Social Democrats stated they fear that they may,

"lose power if immigrants start heading for Sweden instead of Denmark."

They want to continue flood immigration because it keeps them in power and increases dependence on social services and the role of the state. Thereby giving the establishment left a more stable foothold and less likely to be voted out.

This is why they are quick to criticize even the most common sense immigration reforms, they want to continue to keep their stranglehold on the political life of their respective countries.

In other words and long story short its not about "xenophobia" at all and it never really was. Its about the establishment left keeping and holding its power, even if their policies are failing miserably.

They are also willing to use violence to keep power, as exhibited in the recent assasinations of Pim Fortuyn and Italy's newly elected labor minister.

The mainstream left parties then get to shrug off accusations of promoting violence to stay in power since it was done by "radicals" nevermind the fact that most if not all the "radical parties" are basically micromanaged by the mainstream left parties to begin with anyway.

Its basically the scorched earth path to keeping power. And with their apparent lack of consideration for the people in their countries and "means to an end" political maneuvering its no wonder they are getting voted out all over europe.

Good riddance.

Since the INS has virtually admitted that they are no longer enforcing even the supremely liberal immigration laws, Ohio is in immediate danger, and could invoke the Constitutional escape clause in the States' surrender of the War making power to the Federal Government.

I doubt if the Governor would go along. But we could probably justify calling up the militia, and removing the problem that you describe--at least some parts of it.

I am not being entirely tongue in cheek about this. If present trends continue much further, we are going to have to consider all legal options. And it is important to remember that the States did retain War making powers in certain emergencies.
