Works for me, with one exception. There's whatever "big news" that Chandra told her aunt about to consider. I think this was premeditated all the way, whoever did it.

SO what if he meets with her, they argue. An unhappy, distracted Chandra, instead of a careful aware Chandra, heads home and is singled out by a Park predator.

When Condit realized she is missing, his first instinct is to avoid involving himself in any way. He lies to her parents. He lies to police. Too late to go back and do the right thing now.

He really underestimated the vehemence with which the press would persue the story and how his silence contributed to that, or the degree to which people would punish him for not admitting the affair right away and telling all to the family and to police.

If he removed all of her jewelry then he would have taken the Tag Heuer watch as well. If that's true, why dispose of the watch box? There would be no need to do that. I think the police have the watch.

"Keep in mind that Condit had told her never to discuss their relationship, or it would be over, so he was probably unaware that she had. I think he was totally unprepared when the Levys brought out all of this information"

I totally agree with that observation. I think he thought he would never have to admit the truth about his relationship with Chandra... Where we part ways is that while I don't give Condit a free pass, its just as, if not more plausible, that Ingmar jumped her, murdered her, and that the SOB Condit didn't tell police he knew where she was that day, because he is a craven, despicable, low human being.

Grab the tin foil and let me take you back to the very beginning last May.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office sent a detective to Washington DC to assist DC cops. The DC cops brushed him aside, told him to go home, there's nothing here for you to do. He returned to Modesto.

Tin Foil in place? - Good. During his trip to DC, did he have contact with Condit? If so, would not that be something that should be included in his police report? This is the same dept that brother Burl worked for before unceremonially retiring. Was this detective tight with brother Burl? What exactly is in his police report? Surely he would have to account for his time spent in DC beyond filing re-imbursment requests forms for expenses. Was a cover-up in the works at that early date? No facts, just speculation like most everyone else.

A couple of thoughts - - I saw the picture of Condit wearing the pinkie ring - - but a woman's pinkie ring would not fit on a man's pinkie - - it would just be too small.

Also, she may have taken a cab and not had money/purse....especially if she got a phone call from the "perp" who said he would be coming over via cab. She may have gotten into a cab that the "perp" paid for....

Who then took the time to try to bury her, which this type of predator doesn't usually do?

I think Condit has delusions that he can win back his seat next term.

I think he will never admit he knew where Chandra was that day. Even he knows he could never overcome the shame of having witheld that information.

He might, if he knows he is innocent, wait for forensics to clear him. Then, he can play the unfair victim of a witch hunt and try to ride that coattail back into public service.

That said, I haven't heard any public reports of him refusing to meet with DC police now, or even to take a (useless, IMO) polygraph. Do you know something new about that?

There have been contradictory reports about her possibly being in a shallow grave. Burial with a shovel would be overstatement - All they know is her remains were found with loose soil and organic litter from the forest floor (possibly in a depression) over some of her bones.

Even the experts haven't publicly decided whether there was an attempt to bury the remains.

Maybe Condit disposed of the jewelry the same way he tried to get rid of the watch box, only no one saw him do it that time.

I think you have the whole scenario, but I don't think she took a cab, I think she got picked up. Wonder if they can trace all of the INCOMING calls to her apt. He had to take her keys also, because HIS apt. key was on the chain.

Has Kasich given any reasons for his abrupt departure from DC and his quick return to Ohio?

The Ingemar guy tried to rob at least one of those joggers for her WALKMAN....Chandra had a Walkman found next to her. Why would a robber leave what he tried to take from someone else.

I personally think it was Darryl...Carolyn..or Gar!

How could she take a taxi? Her money, credit cards, etc were found in her apartment.

If she caught a cab to the park, she took a five- or a ten-spot, (depending on what it would cost, I have no idea), gave the whole thing to the cabbie, as she knew she wouldn't need a ride back -- Gary was supposed to get her back home.

I agree with your theory. This is very possible. Remember also that they said Chandra had been frantically calling condit during that time period also. She wanted to see him very badly. Anyone have a link that shows there were numerous calls to condit on her cell phone? In addition to this when Chandra's mom first called condit he offered to put up a reward to find her. I think that indicates he knew something. If you put all these and other facts together (like the watch box) It should make him the prime suspect. That and in most missing women cases 90% are a result of a spouse or partner. Why dont the DC cops point this out as obvious?
