Knock it off, Mo1. Ex con has legitimate beefs with the administration, and so do I, especially in this area. It is far past the time that the President starts to clean up the mess at the INS and starts NOW. Most certainly the blame can be placed on Clinton and previous administrations, but that doesn't clean up the mess, now does it? It's the equivalent of saying, "everyone does it." I didn't buy that from my kid when she was 12 and I don't buy it from you, Mo1.
So why don't we all be problem solvers and figure out what's wrong with the INS (and that's pretty obvious) figure out a plan on what needs fixing and DO IT. No BS, no blame, just action. And it's the "action" part that's severely lacking with any reforms in the INS. When are they going to begin? So far, all I've seen is vague proposals, and that's not enough for me.
For the record I NEVER said there was't a problem with the INS .. it is one of the most screwed up departments in our Government
Also I NEVER said that Bush shouldn't fix the INS .. what I DID say was that maybe we should give him a chance to fix problems that were YEARS in the making before he ever took office
I know what is wrong with the INS. There are a myriad of problems in the INS, many of which come from convoluted immigration laws. However, I think the biggest probelm is the easiest one to sovle in terms of time and money. The biggest problem of course is the leadership of the INS. Ziglar, as per the Border Patrol's National Union has given up on enforcing immigration laws. He stated last week that enforcing immigration laws against the 9-11 million illegals in this counrty is impossible. There are a number of Chiefs, Directors and Supervisors that are just thrilled with Ziglar's attitude. The way to solve the problem of weak leadership is obvious. Get rid of all the weaklings and replace them with aggressive law enforcers.
